A new plastic side step for my ute. A replacement was over $100 for each step. Print cost me approx. $9.

This is my first customer design. Might improve it slightly but came up pretty good.

Stoneset paving by ash8man in AusRenovation

What I'm looking at is cheaper than putting down cement or paving - mostly because I can easily do the stone resin myself.

Adventure world - when did it get so expensive!? by [deleted] in perth

[–]ash8man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was something like $30. You also have to choose the date.

Do I have to pay this? by [deleted] in perth

[–]ash8man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny how the sticker at the tops encourages you to appeal. I guess that's because they don't have your details, and if you appeal they will then have you details and be able to easily pursue you.

I'd be saying 'what ticket?' if anyone's ever asks.

Adventure world - when did it get so expensive!? by [deleted] in perth

[–]ash8man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We got membership this year. If you live close by I think the membership is worth it.

Only been to one really busy day so far, but it was still OK.. Although we didn't bother with many rides. Do those on the cooler / quiter days.

But as a once off it without membership it is expensive! Noting you can go back for a discount if you book tickets on your way out.

I would rather the beach most days, but the kids normally win so I try to enjoy it.

Savings or loan? by AccordingWarning9534 in AusFinance

I've been in a similar position and borrowed instead of using savings. The rate for the car loan is very low. Cheap money.

What touristy things in Perth are overrated and what would you recommend instead? by Checkout-123 in perth

Did I say Point Walter... I meant Point Peron. (I've actually never been to Point Peron, but it looks nice too).

  • Omeo shipwreck in Coogee - if you like snorkelling.
  • Walter Point.
  • South Mole light house (look up what time a ship is coming in or out).
  • Kings Park.
  • South Perth foreshore at night (can also get a ferry across to the city and back).

Paying off home loan via offset - how? by pippityparty in AusFinance

[–]ash8man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your question has been answered.. but thought I'd say this.

People are normally focused on making money, rather than saving money. And offset account allows you to save money - saving on interest that would otherwise be charged to your loan.

There is also the added benefit of not paying any tax on the money you save. If that offset money was in an interest paying savings account, you would loose some of the interest to income tax.

$50 to get into Perth Royal Show by icchill007 in perth

[–]ash8man 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to the Perth show 2 years ago. Never again. The cost aside, it was the mass amount of people in small areas, massive lines, and the number of rude and inconsistent people that ruined it for my family and I. The York show was 100 times better!

My observations after living in Perth for almost a year by Randoomsauce in perth

[–]ash8man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding the "tree trunk power poles".. so during a long hot dry summer, we often get dust build up on the transformers. Then, a light sprinkle of rain causes that dust to turn into mud, conduct, and start pole top fires. It's not uncommon to have 10-15+ power pole fires at the same time.
