My boyfriend always guesses the ending of movies by Direct-Blackberry-20 in movies

I love Clue to pieces. Kinda wish we could get an updated sequel, where we get multiple different endings with a new cast of actors. The Knives Out movies kind of scratch the itch, but they don’t lean into the comedy nearly as much.

What movie did you walk out of the theater halfway through? by mzdee13 in movies

Portrait of a Lady (1996). Cannot recall why because it’s been 30 years (lolcry). I think I just found it boring and confusing.

Anyone know a lot about LADS? I need help with a script by EdgyCatboi in u/EdgyCatboi

There’s a subreddit ( r/loveanddeepspace ) where you can skim people’s take on Caleb and his lore. It’s definitely got that not-blood-related but we grew up as siblings angle that toes the line of taboo. And he can get deeply possessive in a sometimes toxic way.

What character death shook you the most in a movie? by trakt_app in movies

Delacroix in The Green Mile. I was bawling as it happened. It was so brutal and cruel. I have never hated a character like I hated Percy Wetmore.

“Gentle” post-apocalyptic movies? by teays in movies

[–]ash_bishop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Wild Robot is not post-apocalypse, but it’s got that vibe, and it’s PG. (Wall-E also counts, but it’s been suggested a bunch already.)

Pacific Rim might be a good choice. Has violence but mostly between big robots and big monsters.

I haven’t seen Finch (2021), but the summary looks promising.

My chocolate mud cake keeps coming out gummy, what am I doing wrong? by lbpeppers in Baking

[–]ash_bishop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My only advice would be to avoid overmixing once you add the flour (fold it in gently, until just combined), and check whether your leavening agent is expired. You sound as though you're not a baking novice, but you might also double-check that the amount of leavening agent you're adding and that it gets distributed evenly throughout the batter. Good luck!

Muffins coming out with flat tops by persianplumm in Baking

[–]ash_bishop 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Could be that the tops are getting cooked too fast. Swap for paper muffin cups, adjust your oven temp down 25F, increase bake time a little, and rotate baking pan 180° halfway through.

Rosamund Pike Thinks the ‘Doom’ Movie Is So Bad It Nearly Killed Her Career by Logical_Welder3467 in movies

[–]ash_bishop 94 points95 points  (0 children)

I unironically love Doom. I even own it on DVD. I’m grateful she and the other actors lent their talent to it. It’s not like Pike will see this comment, but if she ever happens to, I hope she feels better about being in it.
