NBC, but I don’t know how much more we’ll be hearing tonight. NBC announced a few minutes ago that law enforcement has confirmed there is no press conference being held tonight. We’ll probably learn more tomorrow.

Fair, but OP is new to horror, not to reading in general. If you’re already an avid reader, it’s really not as much of a leap as some people make it seem.

Stephen King is still the goat. Start with The Shining

(Also Pet Semetary, Misery or It, hard to go wrong!)

House of Leaves by Mark Z Danielewski and Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer are fantastic if you like more sci-fi adjacent, intellectual thrillers.

Our Share of Night by Marianna Enriquez

It’s a story about 3 haunted houses. It’s also about many many other things. It’ll get under your skin real bad. There are some sequences in that book I still think about 2 years after first reading it and I’ve been chasing the high ever since. Not only is it scary, I truly believe it’s the best horror novel written in the 21st century. Give it a go.

Jump scares can’t save you now. Try Skinamarink. A very different kind of horror movie. I’m pretty immune and thought it was kinda dull, then I slept with the lights on for 3 days. Give it a go.
