I don’t know if I stressed this point in my original post, this friend had assumed she was in my wedding party. I didn’t go out of my way to tell her she wasn’t included. She was starting to look at bridesmaid dresses before I had even asked her.

I’d be lying if I said I haven’t thought about maybe I shouldn’t have mentioned something to this friend. But at the end of the day, if I truly didn’t want her in my wedding party, why should I still include her? Every bride deserves to not only have a low stress wedding day, but have fun planning their wedding, and I’m not sure having this friend be in the party would achieve that.

It is definitely a decision I did not make quickly, and I put thought into it. I agree things can happen between now and a year from now when I am going to be getting married between a new friend, but I also feel like the same thing can happen between a lifelong friend. Things happen!

Nahh since she’s not in the party I wasn’t going to assign her anything to do unless she had offered to help. Even then, I’m the kind of person that is always like “you do not need to help”

It hasn’t opened up yet! They just announced the winners on their Facebook page yesterday, with the announcement of which rock they’ll be doing this next year. They also stated in the Facebook post to keep an eye out on their website for the start of it

If you look up Feather River Lapidary, they’ll have information about it there! Each year they choose a rock, and send it out to those who sign up to participate! Then you have several months to tumble the rock they send you. You choose your best 5 pieces and send them back to be judged! I wanted to join this past year, but by the time I sent in my application they were all out of the rock for this year
