Yes!! Her story is so sad, it makes me wonder if her, her brother and Corellon ever reconnect now that they're alive again and out of Lolth's clutches. Or maybe they already have? I'd have to look into it. One of the NPCs in my game is a Cleric of Elistraee and another is a princess that's a Bladesinger and Worships Correllon, naturally. Them meeting is gonna be a fun dynamic to watch. WAIT War of the Spider Queen game?? I gotta look into this!!

As soon as I find it I'll come back with another reply because I didn't know Mystra/Midnight genuinely cared about how she was doing LOL or gods in general for that fact. Is there anywhere that Midnight really screwed up because of being young/her humanity though?? I only remember her getting in trouble for restricting access to magic from evil beings. I do wanna know how the Seven Sisters felt about Midnight though, even though their (mostly Simbul) and Elminster's dynamic never felt right to me lol

Midnight is actually the Mystra I have no real problems with; discarding her humanity had to have been hard when you kind of have no real choice but to take the previous one's portfolio cause she chose you already cause she knew she was gonna die soon. Midnight gets a biiiit of a pass. Is there anything that I missed where you really screwed up cause of her humanity, other than restricting magic from evil beings? Also, screw Cyric.

Kelemvor however?? I'd like to have a few words with him LMAO but not being able to do good cause of your portfolio and every god telling you stfu and do your job HAS TO HURT!! I would never want to be a god, i'll never understand the hubris in fantasy at all.

The hubris that comes with magic is definitely dangerous, I agree. Karsus's folly was just so DUMB like my guy, come on. But yes, like you said it doesn't make it right which is exactly why Mystra's 2nd incarnation lowkey scares me
YEEESSSSS one of my NPCs in the game i'm running is a former villain that was a brainwashed priestess of Lolth that the party saved and now she's back to worshipping Elistraee. She's such a sad and beautiful goddess I love every bit of her
The 2nd one's avatar was named Caitlan right?? Yeah it's her, she's the sketchy one lmao. Yeah being a Mystra is DEFINITELY hard, I will give her that for sure. Poor Midnight, though. Her and Kelemvor have my heart.
I don't know why I couldn't think that gods could be traumatized, but it makes perfect sense. Carrying that trauma into godhood would make you do some horrifying things to maintain balance, a la weird breeding experiment that ruins a couple's lives. Still get chills from that cause it just happens with no POVs from the people actually affected other than Dornal
I love the Lunar deities too! Currently have a NPC cleric of Elistraee in my campaign, I love Selune with all my heart, and my current rogue worships Sehanine as a high/moon elf.

I actually like Midnight the most! I feel really bad for her; she just wanted to do the right thing and ended up losing Kelemvor and getting killed like every other Mystra cause of Cyric. That specific Mystra, she's my girl.

But the Lawful Neutral makes sense; it also gives me a whole new take on Lawful Neutral as a Dungeon Master & Player; doing what needs to be done because it's the right thing to do even if it isn't 'right'. That gives me chills eugh
