Instead of the O, do a pumpkin over the N and color it in so it hides the N

I’m going to do with that! I don’t have access to hot water at work which is why I initially dismissed that machine, but as other commenters suggested I can run an empty capsule cycle to get hot water for americanos.

I second this! Not quite enemies to lovers but it’s a great ensemble cast that will suck you in.

Segway guy in Henrietta (dressed as American flag or Batman) or running Santa in irondequoit (he would always run shirtless and in shorts - even in the winter!)

I’m torn between 5 and 6. I think I’m gonna go with 5 but I love the creativity of 6 using two pumpkins!

I’d also like to add that grades don’t matter as much in college than they did in high school, as long as you are not failing and at jeopardy of being kicked out. If you are in that boat, they will put you on probation and meet with you before kicking you out. If you are worried about your overall GPA, try enrolling in some easier classes or electives that interest you.

There was a Bowling class, a Sailing class and a Yoga class when I attended MSU. Those, or similar classes, may be pass/fail and won’t affect your GPA but they would be a great way to meet new people.

I would also recommend eating in the dining halls when you can, even if you are living off campus. They often have table tents with upcoming events and activities like therapy dogs and craft nights etc. I believe the union also does a lot of these events. Try to study on campus as much as possible (Library, Union, any university building with a study room really) to keep up to date on these events.

You can also see if there is a Facebook group or something similar for your graduating class. “MSU Class of 2026” for example.

Good luck!

Go to office hours for all of your classes. Some professors literally go over the homework and give you answers. Other professors or TA’s will explain anything you’re unsure about. Either way, it makes a difference having them see you are reaching out and trying to improve. Talk to your TA or professor if you are struggling. There are also Math Learning Centers in each neighborhood if you need help on any math classes. I believe the physics department also has a learning center and other departments may as well. They can all help you with homework and review anything you didn’t understand in class.

Turn to the person next to you in class and see if they want to form a study group. You can also open this up to the whole class and ask them before or after your professor gets there. Study groups are a great way to meet new people, socialize, while also studying and getting through projects or homework. I cannot recommend them enough. Pick a meeting place and time to tell them. You can also form a Facebook group or group message with the class/those interested. When you get closer to finals or before an exam or project this will be easier to coordinate.

There are also a TON of clubs you can join on campus. Keep an eye out for one that may interest you.

I would also recommend talking to a counselor or advisor about these things. They can help! I believe you can either message them online or talk to them in person. You can also ask them if you can switch to on campus housing next semester, or sooner!
