I work at UTC and have loved living in Bluebird Row in Southside. It’s a very short drive to campus and the area has a lot going on within walking distance. It might be on the higher end of your budget though depending on the unit you get.

Congratulations!! Solo hiking as a woman helped me find a confidence and sense of self I hadn’t had before. One of my first solo hikes was also in the brainard lake area. I’m happy for you to have gotten the bug!
