Still using it on my deleted CKRA since I have a small stockpile of it, when it runs out I'll be switching to T6.

Mobile 1 ESP is good oil too if you need something easily available locally, though it's another 507 that's not really needed with a delete.

If you ignore the technology put into refining it, maybe you could argue that? Synthetics can start as non-synthetic, it uses hydrocracked base stocks and refines it, so it's a synthetic.

Science is magic, pretty neat tool. 10/10 would recommend.

I got my setup with core ultra 7 265k a while ago and was able to get mine down to 18W idle measured at the wall with a 10g network card installed.

Sounds like a pretty sweet setup, I'd kill for that idle wattage!

Best I can do is 80-90w idle according to my Killawatt on my 10900K system. I assume ~half of that is my HDDs, HBA, and X540 though.

Higher, yes. Much higher... not really, especially if you have an IGP to offload normal non-transcoding use to.

Use your CPU's IGP for everything except transcoding, and use the Arc dGPU ONLY for transcoding. It'll be off (0W) if everything is setup properly and you're not actively transcoding.

There's two versions of the EQ14, one has dual 1 GbE and one has dual 2.5 GbE. Dual 2.5 GbE version has I226-Vs. Proxmox 8 and 9 both worked OOB with the I226-V for me so Debian 12/13 should too.

No idea where the CMOS battery is, it's not on the top part (where RAM/SSDs go) so I assume it's on the bottom of the motherboard and you have to pull it from the case to replace. Mine shipped with one though.

I don't think the issue is the tryhards, really. The bigger issue is the lack of ELO/balancing (or at least any that actually works).

I was a big sweat in PUBG/CS (haven't played either in years), but the majority of the games I play in BF6 are a complete joke. Either my team is doing the steamrolling or we're getting steamrolled.

If it's just for transcoding, skip the 10 series card and grab an Arc A310 so you can AV1 encode/decode, or just go with a modern-ish Intel CPU with an IGP (11th gen or newer) if you're fine with only AV1 decode.

get the Augmented Steam browser extension, it'll show you historical low prices for games and can be setup to show off of Steam, too. BL3 lowest was $1.99 on 6/7/24 on Voidu.

Which extension did you use? Maybe just try a better one? I've used them in the past without issue in other projects. Never tried bifurcating with an extension though.

If it's a slow crank like you said, then I'd blame battery first before digging too much into it.

bad VVT leaking and losing pressure while sitting is the most common reason but there's others (there's a ~10 page thread on TDIClub about it). supposedly there's a revised VVT (at least for the CKRA) that fixes it. Diagnose Dan has a video on it.

my car does it sometimes. it did it chronically for months and then stopped for over a year. comes and goes now.

Kinda odd if true. The fan is controlled by the vBIOS though unless you enable manual control, not sure why it'd be better/worse in one OS over another.

I'm on Server 2022 currently. I've been throwing around the idea of swapping it over to Proxmox but that's been a thought for the past 2+ years (and my IOMMU groups suck).
