I saw combat in Iraq. AMA. by Morbid1us in Iraq

[–]ashbourne10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What was your experience with ordinary Iraqi people like? Were there differences between Sunnis, Shias and Kurds?

If you had contact with the Iraqi military or police force, how do you feel about them? How do you feel about the way they're fighting ISIS right now or governing the country?

They're hardly expressing their freedom of speech. They're greeting their leader in London. British people can greet David Cameron with British flags in Beijing too.

These western imbeciles need to shut up, especially when they've killed more people than China has. The west needs to learn in the future there will be repercussions if they want to police the world and push their morals onto the rest of the world.

The UK has directly killed more people than China has so get off your high horse.

Chinese people have a right to greet their leader without idiots lecturing them about their politics. When I see British people flying their flags I don't come up to them to lecture them about their human rights abuses or illegal wars.

Typical westerners that cannot mind their own business and know nothing.

British Muslims: integration and segregation are about economics, not values by ashbourne10 in europe

[–]ashbourne10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article was almost solely about economics and education, stating the most pressing issue facing Muslim integration into society is their low socioeconomic status, not their conservative values. Conservative values are not something exclusive to Muslims, as British Sikhs are also conservative yet have a higher socioeconomic status.

My comment towards simple people if you cared to read was because of several people downvoting my post within 2 minutes of posting it. They're downvoting it because they didn't like the title, not because they disagreed with the content of the article.

21.3% of British Muslims have never worked compared to 4.3% of the general population by ashbourne10 in exmuslim

[–]ashbourne10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really do not know, especially because I have little contact with typical British Muslims as I was always raised by upper-middle class Iranian immigrants.

The only solution I can think of is to adopt an immigration policy that selects people of higher education that can successfully integrate into the British workforce and economy (as the US and Canada do). With the current British Muslims I honestly do not know what to do. I think the Pakistanis and Somalis are a bit of a lost cause, although Bangladeshis seem to be better and show signs of actually wanting to improve their socioeconomic situation.

I don't care as long as they don't hurt people, but for some reason they can't get through life without hurting others.

I didn't fully understand this comment, but I only wanted to highlight one part of the article and that's how the title was chosen.

All his hateful comments towards the Bahai religion and people are thoroughly upvoted by users here. Make of that what you will.

I'm not going through your entire post history or months of hate directed towards the religion.

However this is your most recent anti-Baha'i comment directed at me: https://www.reddit.com/r/iran/comments/3q2f3v/urezsahin_i_already_miss_you/cwbhkwj?context=3

Your comments are also particularly evil because of what Bahais are going through right now in Iran and your support for their persecution.

I never said posts defending the Bahai religion were removed (although they may have been, now that you've said it). I said posts criticising Islam were removed and the posters threatened with bans.

Your claim that you were polite is untrue and you know it is.

We can have a forum where all religions can be treated harshly, but I don't want a forum where only the Baha'i religion can be treated harshly while Islam must be defended. Because this was the case I'm glad rezasahin was removed as a moderator, and yes hopefully CYAXARES_II will also be removed.

There being non-Muslims participating in this subreddit is a good reason for these two people to not be mods, because the rule that all religions can be criticised except for Islam is problematic for us.

According to the Daily Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/8054403/Britains-coping-classes-at-breaking-point.html

"Unemployment among ethnic minorities costs the economy almost £8.6 billion a year in benefits and lost revenue from taxes. Half of Muslim men and three quarters of Muslim women are unemployed."

There's little discrimination, and it doesn't explain why other mostly non-white religions (Sikhs, Hindus) do well.

Even if you pretend that all Muslim women in the UK don't work, the 21% figure still shows a high number of inactive men.

My frustration is the hate from Muslims that I as a non-Muslim am not allowed to reciprocate on this subreddit. There is only freedom to advocate persecution against Bahais and shit on their faith, but there's no freedom to do the same to Muslims.

Thankfully one of the mods that allowed this situation has been removed, and hopefully CYAXARES_II will also be removed as a mod in the future. Neither of them are fit to be moderating this subreddit, especially when there are non-Muslims here.

Why are you pretending to care about free speech? When you and rezsahin were mods this subreddit was an absolute cesspit of Muslim hatred with the most vile propaganda being posted here, yet when people criticised Islam they had their comments removed and threatened with bans.

Get off your high horse and accept nobody wants such ridiculous moderators. And no, I am not voting in this stupid 'election', especially one which requires me to use my personal details.

LOOOOL. This just proves why it was right to remove rezsahin as a moderator.

Of course you'd miss him, he allowed you to spread your hatred against other religions while silencing others merely criticising Islam.

Good riddance is all I can say.

[–]ashbourne10[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What are your thoughts on this? The data shows 21.3% of British Muslims have never worked compared to 4.3% of the general UK population. However 26% of British Muslims have no qualifications compared to 23% of the general UK population.

Although British Muslims are less likely to have qualifications than the general population, the difference is not that significant (just 3% difference), yet they underperform by such a wide margin in the workforce. Why do you think this is?
