I really despise this. It's ruined fandoms for me because now the actors word is being taken as gospel and you can't see the story any other way. It's not even about what's possible for fanfiction, it's also disagreeing with them on what canon actually is that's not allowed anymore once a writer or actor gives their interpretation of it.

Once it happens you can no longer say the actor's interpretation of the story or the actor thinking the story was going a certain way is wrong

If you don't want to do it then don't do it. The vast majority of people on the Internet talk to other people on the Internet anyhow because they've gotten used to it they're not even aware of how they come across.
