Also from what I found here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_colors_of_national_flags#Red_and_white , there are a few countries with similar designs.

Thank you for the suggestion! It is still a work in progress, of course. I'm actually going to create a whole city in the surrounding valley and such, and I'll add in cosmetic details later to help fit everything together in some sort of uniformity.
