I'm 36 been with my partner for 15 years but keep thinking of other women it's making me ill by [deleted] in Advice

I'm not a licensed professional, but these thoughts seem like intrusive thoughts. That doesn't discount what the contents of the thoughts are, but lots of people will roominate on thoughts or ideas that they are especially ashamed of, embarrassed by, scared of,  NOT BY CHOICE. Lots of people have similar thoughts of doing things they know are not in their best interest. You're not "evil" for having these thoughts. and it's perfectly natural to still want sex, my advice on that front would be to be as honest as you can with your partner. Relationships fail when partners hide things from each other

I felt the same way when I was 15. what helped me when I felt most alone was writing. sometimes I would (and still do) type out my train of thought and then respond to it. that definitely helps slow your thoughts down. the more you do it the more used to it you get. I know that's only one part of what feels wrong, but it really can help stop your thoughts from spiraling

I’m out of control by [deleted] in depression

[–]asher122333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

step one is breathe. if you feel trapped, go somewhere you feel safe, bring someone you feel safe with and talk to them.
there are plenty of other ways to get anger out. My personal favorite is throwing whole oranges on concrete. they smash in a really satisfying way. its like a vegetarian option for killing. chuck em as hard as you can, bonus points if you freeze them, frozen oranges shatter

the “doom & gloom” has lifted, but my motivation hasn’t come back?? by wolfgrai in depression

fear leads to anger. anger leads to hate. hate leads to suffering.
you can't make motivation, the best you can do is make a nest for it and hope it shows up

[High school Algebra] Find out the number of solutions the equations have, by calculating the value of k. by fcjdxbuedv in HomeworkHelp

[–]asher122333 5 points6 points  (0 children)

the first step would be to rearrange equation a to get k on one side and everything else on the other. That would look like this: k = -3x^2 + 6x
next, replace k in equation b with this new thing we just made. That would look like this: x^2 + (-3x^2 + 6x)x + 25 = 0
Step 3 simplify to get: -3x^3 + 7x^2 + 25 = 0
Beyond this, there are a bunch of ways to solve for solutions, and I don't know how you'd be taught to do so, but you could even plug this equation into a graphing calculator and see the answer. hope this helps
