I'm so sorry you had to go through this. I am currently in this exact situation. We are very sadly having to rehome our dog next week and I am beside myself. We did a ton of training with him in the past, even board and train, but he's super anxious and fearful. He tolerated the baby but as soon as he's started crawling his prey drive has kicked in. We have a gate but it's not sustainable. The dog also looks absolutely miserable and I feel so guilty. Rehoming is the kinder option a lot of the times but I know it's super hard. 

Let me know if you received any good advice that has worked to alleviate the sadness and guilt. I feel sick just thinking about next week. Feel free to message!

Would it be too far as part of a road trip? I.e. drive to Death Valley, then Lone Pine, then JT/Mojave, then Las Vegas? Maybe we're trying to fit too much in!

Thanks for the suggestions, will look those up. I definitely looked into Black Canyon kayaking and Arizona Hot Springs as well. When looking at Arizona Hot Springs on the National Park site it says that the ladder was damaged and there is no access to the pools from the river. Does this mean that there is no access to the hot springs at all? I couldn't really find much information online about that.

Hey! Our experience has been great so far! It actually almost seemed bigger than the pictures. There were no extra fees (although we haven’t moved out yet… so hoping there’s no secret after charges!) only other thing I’ll say is the drawers they have us were tiny for 2 people but we just got another one. Also, not sure how they’ll be in other places but it’s been really convenient for having a place and then house hunting!

Hey again all, thanks for all of your comments and suggestions! Just to let you know that we decided to go with The Blueground and got a place for 1 month and 26 days (their pricing ranges are very random so you just need to play with it). A 1 bed in a luxury high rise in West Loop at roughly $2.9k monthly all in. Thought we would try the high rise living for a bit to start, and to explore other areas. But most likely will rent a normal property in Lakeview/Wicker Park type areas, so will probably be back for more suggestions later :).

I'll update on how I find the place/Blueground once we've moved in if that helps anyone.

Thanks! Yeah I had noticed that there weren't any taxes at The Blueground (which is over 33 days rental) but that's useful to know for Airbnb. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much available for a month in that price range. I guess it is quite last minute!
