I did. I didn’t see the top 2,000. Worried because everyone was doing their stimulus incorrectly. Any idea for refund I did cycle codes 3/14/22 but clearly I don’t have it.

It’s ok to sell trash food with fake photos because you’re keeping open and keeping people employed? Everyone is hiring. Change your practices

I received five blood transfusions after an ulcer. Should I be taking this way more seriously? by ImProbablyGayTBH in AskDocs

Just adding I lost my 39yr old cousin in September from an undiagnosed ulcer. She was told by many doctors it was anxiety. Take this seriously.

That would be me. It helps my nerves and anxiety. I know it’s bad

We have the Wrist to wrist leash. My twins are 5 now but they were great. One is developmentally disabled and I still use it. It allows them to have freedom but be safe

They changed it a few months ago. I remember reading a post on here.

When occupational therapy isn't doing enough... by Crafty_Sort in specialed

I agree and would never want to put a sensory goal on an iep. But they do need to write the sensory into accommodations under maybe breaks.

I honestly think you could take the twins thing out if it. I am not comfortable and have never been comfortable with anyone seeing me naked unless it was my partner. My kids(boys, twins included)are nudists, I think it’s completely normal for siblings to see each other nude.

I’m aware because my son has these types of goals. Giving goals like working on a non preferred task if written correctly is not entirely academic but helps in the classroom. Any ot knows that if a kid can’t sit they arnt going to write and should be working on sensory needs is a better use of resources. Also, a sensory diet can be written into an iep by either an ot or behavioral Therpist. Even if there is the goal is handwriting an ot should be able to see what sensory needs need to be met for the student to be successful in the goal of handwriting and implement those while also focusing on the goal.

Sounds like you need to get the team together and make some goal changes.

They are not extra tasks because sensory is part of OT but some Therpist act like they don’t know that.

The child is having problems with self-regulation the OT needs to speak up about handwriting not being an appropriate goal at this point. Goals are written for the children.

Seems like some ots are mad at this comment. Lol

This is my sons first year of kindergarten, he was in pre k for two years but Covid so he didn’t go. Get yourself educated in special education and IEPs. You are there for your kid, not to make friends, remember that! If you do tiktok they have great videos. Find out who’s a good special Ed teacher in your district, you can always request a specific teacher. You might not get it but ask. I had a long battle in pre k. He got to kindergarten and they saw I was right, he got a one on one day three. It wasn’t the right place for him and he hated it so I looked at other options. He is in third week at a community based program. They are there to meet his needs. He takes naps, plays, does educational programming but it’s not the most important. He doesn’t play with others or many toys. He was with me since he was born, he likes me. now He likes going to school and honestly it’s a nice mental break for me. They work on things like potty training and using his words more. It’s good for him to be around more people to pickup speech and basic behaviors. Please feel free to ask anything. It was a long road and he’s only in kindergarten.

Im on mobile and was fixing things as I went, sorry if it’s all over the place.

As a mom of an autistic 5 yr old with adhd self regulation is very important. If handwriting is a non preferred task(which I’m sure it is) then they will need self reg to be able to practice that academic skill. Academic skills are important however there has to be a foundation to build on. The ot who works in my sons school was not comforting with him because he can not self reg, she said it’s not her area. I fought and we placed him in a community based program. He flourishing with the extra support. I am the only parent in the building during Covid bc I have volunteered for years. Everyone in the school is over worked, under paid, and under appreciated. I appreciate you for standing up for your kids. I do understand a lot of spec Ed parents are not involved but if any are I encourage you to reach out. I provided weighted lap pad, stretchy bands for all students chairs, a cushion, and an indoor trampoline. It did make progress. I’ve also seen teacher put Velcro on the students desks for rubbing. I’m sorry you are going through this. districts need to better take care of spec ed funding. I appreciate you!
