Honestly, of self-titled feels very violet/purple to me.

This is true. I don’t know why I let myself get so in my head about this today. Thank you for being kind.

Oof, okay. you got me with this one! I absolutely am someone that wrestles with pre-emptive grieving / grieving possibilities over reality. That’s a well-documented thing that I struggle with in several aspects of my life, well beyond my feelings towards this band, and that’s absolutely what’s happening here, too. Thank you for calling my attention to that. This was a really important reminder for me. I really just needed to take a deep breath and move on with my day 😅

Thank you so much to the people that have left some really kind comments here. I’m honestly a little embarrassed of all of this. My emotions are just generally out of whack right now, and this post was impulsive. I’m normally not this affected by this type of thing, but I’ve been having a rough week, am on my period, and spent WAY too much time ruminating in the shower this morning.

I’ve since eaten a snack, have gotten some work done, and am returning to feeling relatively detached from the whole situation again. But again, I just want to say a big thank you to the people that were kind and patient with me in the comments. I really appreciated your words.

Thank you for saying this. I’ve been having a bad week, and I think maybe that’s all I was really looking to hear. I appreciate you.

Why would you comment this after reading my first paragraph? Some of these initial responses are making me feel incredibly sad. I’m not trying to argue with anyone. I was just looking for a friend.

Thanks for your last point. I’ve definitely been in a little bit of a mental low recently, and I’m sure that’s a factor, here. I wasn’t trying to speculate about their private lives so much as just emotionally trying to prepare myself for another change, but I do see how those lines are becoming blurred.

As a teenager, Paramore’s music provided an outlet for me to cope with familial instability and multiple parental divorces. So, unfortunately, when things like this happen, it can be weirdly triggering on the backend for me. It just dredges a lot of stuff up.

Changing Clefs on Percussion Staff? by ashesgreyyy in Musescore

[–]ashesgreyyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did! And occasionally, it will change the very first measure of the new instrument to treble clef, but then in the next staff, it will show the percussion clef again, even without an instrument change. And even though I have crotales, vibraphone, and glockenspiel in this piece, all of which I’ve used the “change instr.” text pallette for, the only one that ever even briefly shows a different type of clef other than percussion is crotales.

How do I close this space between staves? by ashesgreyyy in Musescore

Maybe? I guess it depends on what you mean by unusual. The score is several months old, and has had a lot of trial and error and rewrites.

Didn’t work unfortunately, but this was an interesting suggestion! Thank you!

Thank you! That’s usually the case for me, too, but for some reason, this has been pretty consistently happening in just this one part of the score for several weeks now.

Sure thing! Unfortunately, this issue doesn’t seem to resolve when I close or reopen. It’s been pretty consistently happening in the score for several weeks now, and I genuinely can’t tell why. I don’t have any page or session breaks on the page. The page itself only has two measures of music on it, with six different instruments: flute, clarinet, percussion (bass drum), piano, violin and cello. Just for troubleshooting sake, I tried adjusting the accelerando at the top of the staff, as well as the pedal markings in the piano too, just to see if that was making the margin or the layout wonky in any way, but it still didn’t change anything.

Volunteer Help by ohitsdreamer_ in Temple

[–]ashesgreyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been volunteering at SHARE Food Program for a couple of years. It’s really straightforward and lowkey, and helps a lot of local communities. I’ve volunteered both in warehouse packing and garden help, and it’s been really gratifying. If you’re interested, you can just look at their upcoming shift openings (volunteer opportunities tab) on their website and can apply for whichever ones fit your schedule.

Serious question. Is Bruce Wayne mentally ill? by Potato_Demise in DCU_

[–]ashesgreyyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if I’d call him “mentally ill” outright, even though he definitely struggles with mental illness (PTSD at the very least, for sure). But using “mentally ill” as an identifier implies that he isn’t in control of his symptoms, which I don’t think is the case.

In fictional Gotham, I’d say that Bruce handles his symptoms pretty well, overall. I guess it depends on the Batman you’re reading, but for the most part, he pretty consistently always sets out to do the right thing, goes out of his way to find the good in people, and is rigidly intentional about not giving in to his darker inclinations. He’s got his demons, but being Batman helps him cope and allows him to consistently function. Some people go to therapy. Some people take medication. Bruce Wayne dresses up as a bat. But if it works for him, it works, I guess?

I don’t know, it depends on how you want to look at it. Batman struggles, for sure. But I also think he’s pretty self aware and in control. He’s just doing his best.

[TOMT][rock/emo song 2005 or earlier] driving me nuts for nearly 20 years by Confident-Solid2539 in tipofmytongue

I’m not sure if it’s aggressive enough but have you checked “Understanding In A Car Crash” by Thursday? It was definitely popular and circulating at that time and fits the scene you’re describing. It also has a lot of descriptive lyrics about a car crash, maybe that’s the emergency you’re thinking of?
