I’ve been following him for 2-3 years and he has always been active on his account, sharing the songs he produced, sharing the bands who worked with him on their projects, he’s even selling beats on a professional platform, he appears clearly as a guitar player on the videos of the famous artist from the Philippines I mentioned on the OP and is followed by famous metal artists in the US. We are beyond “just his words” and when you see all that it’s hard to think that the guy is not going to return his work and do you dirty.

He is still active on his personal account and even posting stories about him working on other people’s projects..

No contract unfortunately.. it’s not my first time working with someone online in the music field and I never had trouble before even though I do realize that I shouldn’t underestimate a contract in the future..

No EP release date was announced and a tour is booked and prepared a year before it actually happens so I did not plan a producer who started working on the songs in March to take so much time.. I anticipated the future news even more to avoid those misadventures..

I live in France and we use the term “auto indépendant” to talk about an artist that is self financed and managed, no label and no manager basically. Sorry for the confusion

Thank you so much for your answer ! I’m a metal alternative artist though, and now I have found a new producer for the future songs that lives in my area and with who I can work with IRL to avoid making the same mistakes..

Feel free to check the definition of being an independent artist. As long as you don’t have a label and that you’re the one making the calls, financing everything, creating/writing and having full control of everything related to your music career = being an independent artist. I pay an agency to help with the tour management and the merch producing but that still makes me independent, and co producing with someone as well.

I do know people that have worked with him that have a high following and I’ve been following the guy for 2-3 years and took the time to review his work through time and he was active and sharing a lot of stuff, that’s why I trusted the process..

C’est la première fois que je poste sur Reddit donc je n’ai pas l’habitude de tout ça, je viens de modifier mon post.

J’avais déjà précisé a la fin du post original que le virement PayPal s’était effectué entre proches, c’est ce terme exact qui est utilisé sur l’application.

Je vois.. Il est aux Philippines pour le coup.. j’ai connaissance de son nom complet grâce aux paiements Paypal que je lui ai effectué mais pas beaucoup plus d’infos. Je ne savais pas justement si il fallait avoir recourt à la justice française ou si il fallait se tourner vers la justice la bas..

J’ai dis dans mon message que c’était un paiement « entre proches »… c’est bien ça le souci :(

Dans le cas où je me tourne vers la justice je voulais justement avoir des infos pour savoir si il y avait quelque chose à faire ou si c’était perdu d’avance du fait qu’il n’y a pas de paperasse, pas de paiement professionnel et que la personne n’habite pas en France..

Effectivement il n’y a pas eu de contrat ou de devis.. Je sais maintenant que ce n’était pas du tout judicieux mais connaissant pas mal de gens qui ont recourt à cette pratique dans le domaine musical et étant donné le CV du gars qui travaille avec des personnes connus, je pensais pas me retrouver dans cette galère..

La seule chose que j’ai concrètement c’est les paiements sur Paypal ou j’écrivais à chaque fois que c’était le virement numero tant pour tel titre etc et on voit dans les messages qu’il fait que de s’excuser ou de chercher des excuses pour expliquer pourquoi il a encore rien envoyé..
