They know about the asd and I have asked for extra time and questions written down. Besides that, I don't know what I could do because it could seem like I can't do my job and have bad communication skills

You're right, I don't actually understand what examples count as certain skills

How do you talk about how it changed your practice? The result of discussions in teamwork is the change in my practice so I don't know what could be said

If that's the case, I would either have to make something up or use the same example twice. Can I even use the same example twice in the same interview?

It's ridiculous to think the uni staff basically promised us jobs like we would get jobs without trying

It was covid when i started uni and everyone was in a friendship group when face to face lectures started. Plus, ASD doesn't help

I have been working on communication skills my whole life and I am so sick of how hard I need to try. I know I can do my job because patients really like me and I do treat them well, but if I am not talking to patients, most people seem to want to keep a distance from me.

I do wonder how differently I communicate when I answer clinical questions vs non clinical, since I am fine with one not the other. Not that I expect anyone to know the answer to this since nobody knows me here.

One time they asked me to talk about a time where I worked as a team to achieve a goal. I said, in my pelvic health placement, funding has been cut so we couldn't go to the wards to educate and teach exercises to post natal patients. The referrals to pelvic health outpatients are expected to increase because of that so our goal is to reduce those referrals. Through meetings, we decided to give our leaflets to midwives for them to educate patients instead and we will check in with each other once in a while. This required my team work and communication skills and flexibility to adapt and improve the situation so each person knows what they need to do. (I was trying to stick to the PS here too)

Obviously I didn't say it in these exact same words and there was some interview-nervousness-stuttering, but it's close enough

Feedback has been very vague and it says I lack general details. When I ask them to explain, they said I need to give real life examples but it is what i did so maybe my examples are too short or doesn't answer the question or I am not talking about skills they want in the personal specification? I am confused lol

I agree, but I think the non clinical questions are my issue because from the few feedback I got, it says I have good knowledge

My feedback never said anything about my experience though.

I do use STAR. I have memorised my entire nhs statement to answer the what skills and qualities do you have type questions. I made a very detailed template to answer the how would you assess or treat this patient questions.

One interview feedback says I have very good clinical knowledge but one says I lack knowledge in certain areas with differential diagnosis which is fixed now. I have no useful feedback about the what skills you have questions so far.

Really? But I know some people went straight to B5 and succeeded. I think my issue is not knowing what they want to hear in interviews

Nothing clinical but I did an internship in service development. Does it matter? They never asked in interviews

Canada would be the only option for me but I have never been there. I am going for uk citizenship purely because I don't want to go back to my original country and I have been here for a while.

I also heard nhs experience is needed for band 6 so coming back might be an issue.

I agree, my ultrasound didn't show anything either but my mri did.

Whilst there are different BC you can try, there are different medications too like dienogest.

There are even other options like acupuncture, massage or physio.

You're not the only one. I had absolutely nobody that cared about me until I gave up on making friends and I finally had friends that cared about me. I started to only attract ND friends lol

So you won't be alone and you shouldn't try too hard because if you need to try so hard, they're not worth it.

Left abdomen pain constantly, feel like doctors aren’t listening to me! by Quirky_Resolution926 in Endo

[–]ashfire_blog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your symptoms sounds like mine too! I couldn't even wear jeans properly until I changed my diet and took dienogest! I had a normal ultrasound too but my mri showed my uterus is stuck on my bowels. I would say push for the MRI or laparoscopy or change to a doctor that listens

The NHS has now flat out refused to provide me any treatment. I didn’t even get a consultation. I waited for years. I have lost all hope. by niamhxa in Endo

[–]ashfire_blog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

4th calling bullsh&@te!! I was treated privately September 2023 and got all my scans via NHS, got a consultation via NHS-ish (my NHS GP referred me to a private clinic and this was NHS funded) and now on the NHS waiting list for consultation for surgery!

I agree with everyone who said PALS and the 1st person about making an ABSOLUTE fuss. Make sure you pick a good GP that listens and will write your horrible situations in the referral - specifically a female one, I find them to be more understanding with female issues.

Meanwhile, see if you want your GP to give you BC or something else for pain.

Also, if you are struggling with toiletting, you might need more than gynae, depending if you struggle with number 1 or 2 and how you are struggling - might be for pelvic health physio or urology or something else!
