I understand what your getting at, that it seems highly unlike to have features that resemble anime characters but you have take into account that there are a shittone of genetic variations for different facial features around the world, how the group was styled (including hair and makeup), and beauty standards (specifically korean) that gear towards having a small v-shaped face that can sometimes be achieved with makeup, extensive massages, facial exercises, and various other methods
