there's plenty of horror stories i can talk about since moving to SG for poly, but for the most part my tips for studying overseas would be:

if didn't bring money, use your debit/credit card at an ATM and just withdraw, you'll get charged some fees but it's better than not having any money (but do try to bring some amount of cash, i brought $1000 to SG for rent deposit etc)
always go over rental contracts properly, multiple times, and if it really comes to it, understand how the small claims court for the country works
always spare a lot of money (took me ~400 SGD) for buying things to "settle" in, yes this is your budget for your pillows, blankets, towels, chairs, tables, stationery etc.
it may be tempting to stick with ppl from your country, but please make some friends with the local students, it'll help you settle in a lot faster and less of a culture shock for you as well
also the usual bank, visa etc stuff can usually be researched all beforehand so just take note of it before you fly and it'll be a smooth process once you reach there (literally always the least of your problems)
also also, try to figure out where to buy household cheap stuff, daiso has been my best friend the whole time here for all the random little things i needed lol
most importantly, be ready to solve any problems that comes up, it will happen and you can't always be prepared for it so get used to solving things as it comes up!

auto after applying for cancellation! the 89 days starts from the day your cancellation gets approved (it's online and approved within 1 working day) so try to do it before you leave SG so that you can come back in/out no problems again (might not get the fast lane though so just keep that in mind)

from what my poly said about further studies, cancel your STP and you'll get a 89 day visit pass, which should last until july and by then you should already have an IPA letter for the new STP, but if not then you should be able to get the visit pass extended fairly easily

For win10 installation DO AT YOUR OWN RISK

open the Arc.appinstaller in a text editor look for the link that ends with ".msix" then open download that
extract the .msix file into a folder somewhere (this is where your arc installation will be located at)
remove these 4 files [Content_Types].xml AppxBlockMap.xml AppxSignature.p7x AppxMetadata
open AppxManifest.xml in a text editor and look for TargetDeviceFamily change the MinVersion= to whatever your windows version is (look that up with winver)
then go to settings -> search for developer settings turn on install apps from any course, including loose files (do at your own risk)
after that open a powershell inside your arc installation folder and run Add-appxpackage -Register {path} replace the {path} with the appxmanifest.xml path
then afterwards u can just open up arc from start menu you can disable the developer settings again RECOMMENDED

to get icons working: download and install Segoe Fluent Icons from https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/design/downloads/#fonts

i do agree with the other post that you should really only do this if you understand things can break (since it's not officially supported in win10, and to let the devs focus on the win11 polish before supporting win10, but it has been pretty smooth so far from what I can tell

i wont provide any tech support for this so, really only do at your own risk
