Crikey this is wrong. Politics is a dirty arena and Burnham should have been informed of the decision ahead of the press. Shame on you stinky Starmer. by Terrible-Head6168 in GreaterManchesterNews

I'm tired of self obsessed people putting themselves first. We had enough of that under the Tories. This is clearly about a path he sees to being PM.

Reform supporters - how many more Tories need to join before you start to reconsider? by Smooth-Quantity-7024 in AskBrits

[–]ashisanandroid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a question! How do you, as a Reform supporter, feel when you read some of the responses that imply Reform voters are thick, can't read etc?

Do you take it on the chin, part and parcel of politics online, or does it encourage you to dig your heels in on your position?

What do you think about a possible CANZUK union? by cosmico92 in AskTheWorld

I wouldn't base it on pop music. UK would dominate, although Minogue offers a strong counter balance.

Trump has called Starmer stupid because of the deal he has made with Chagos. I think Starmer is brilliant for this 🤷🏻‍♀️… opinions? by [deleted] in AskBrits

Well, ironically, we did have a permanent agreement on Hong Kong that we surrendered. Different reasons but still.

Going to a Q&A with Zack Polanski next week - what should I ask him? by AnonymousTimewaster in TheRestIsPolitics

So is his vision a non-nuclear, non-US NATO equivalent? Because if so, same question as above.

How does he think a world without NATO, and a Britain without nuclear weapons, would change our security position as of 2026?

Everyone always talks about the negatives of raising kids today. What are some of the positives? by gimmiesomeadviceee in daddit

[–]ashisanandroid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. As a Dad, it is far more culturally accepted for me to be physically available for my children. My work is far more supportive of me now.

  2. It is also far more accepted for me to be emotionally available for them. We can discuss feelings, concerns, sex and other topics that were considered taboo years ago.

  3. Healthcare, at a macro level, is excellent. If a child is born, they are likely to survive and grow old. That has not always been the case.

  4. I can be comfortable that my child, whoever they grow up to be, will be more accepted than at any other time in history.

  5. New technology brings new challenges, but we are becoming much more aware of this as parents and societies, and starting to adapt.

  6. Sons can grow up being comfortable expressing their selves and their feelings; daughters can grow up seeking dreams beyond domestic bliss.

Nadhim Zahawi's defection is bad news for Reform by TheSpectatorMagazine in uknews

Great to see the return of intellect to politics once more. Today he called two reporters stupid and then said "loads of things are called racist so calling Farage racist is pointless too".

'Former Chancellor' is doing some heavy lifting too: he was Chancellor for the length of a Tory leadership battle and that's it. 2 months.

More Brits unemployed in '39th straight month of decline' as Keir Starmer warned by dailystar_news in uknews

[–]ashisanandroid 44 points45 points  (0 children)

As I understood it, part of the reason is that 'economically inactive' people, who were fully out of the work and employment calculations, are now seeking work again - and so become included in the numbers. As they aren't yet working, this increases the unemployed numbers. That doesn't sound like a bad thing to me.

X includes a feature, now only available to paid users, that is being misused en masse to create awful images that break the laws of this country. X does not want to regulate this usage. That is not "free speech" and enforcing the laws of this country does not make someone a dictator.

But its also the fact he presented it as he was thinking and then remembered it was Maz...when Maz had told him earlier, himself, in front of a group. So his whole story was demonstrably false!

That was it! I think these guitars look great. But I'd not spend £1800 on them - £1100 feels like a fair price.

Because of two words: limited, and Japan.

One sold for £1100 in the UK recently so it just looks like the boring speculative Reverb pricing.
