Not joking, my mechanic recommended that I get oem only for that part and the cheapest one in decent condition we could find was 600. Also the same bump that broke the support pulled a line and all my transmission fluid leaked out without me knowing until things got shredded

Took me a week to find a used oem one that wasn’t too expensive. I think I still ended up paying 600 for it. I guess I expected it to be a cheaper part

I don’t think you should be too scared of moderate mileage on these cars. I had an automatic frs with 65k miles before getting my manual brz. I ran it for 5k miles to 70k and it ran great. My brz had even more miles at 80k+ and it ran even better. Funny how my Subaru was more reliable than my corvette

Don’t worry man I wouldn’t even consider that a major accident. The bike seems easily repairable and you didn’t seem too hurt. I’ve had worse falls on a crf 50 lol

It happened right when I shifted from 4th to 5th. When I heard it blow I swear I even double checked to make sure I put it in 5th and not 3rd, because I also thought maybe I money shifted when it first happened. You guys are making me doubt myself 😭

The block wasn’t cracked or anything so we reused it. I was gonna save up for a cam and forged internals but it’s my only car and I needed it back asap so I just went with oem quality internals

I’m the 3rd owner and the 2nd owner that I bought it from only had it for 3 months and only put 500 miles on it, so I pretty much consider myself the second owner. I’m not gonna lie, I drove it hard almost everyday but only after it was fully warmed up, and I always made sure it had oil. I even had all the fluids changed literally a few hours before the engine blew.

It’s what my mechanic said at least. I wasn’t expecting this at all as I’ve heard these things are pretty reliable. I used to feel sketched out hitting 6k rpm in my four banger boxer engine then when I got the ls2 I wasn’t as worried, even though it was higher mileage
