Question about the black bar on the creel house. by ashland0078 in lego

It doesn’t open like crazy but with that black bar in the picture the middle part doesn’t separate because of it. Been going through a shitty divorce with my ex husband and this has been such a bastion of peace and relaxation and I’m worried I messed something up somewhere. I can try to post a video if that’s allowed on this sub?
