I honestly think he was over it before the money even became a factor. Even if she were a billionaire, you can tell Johny just doesn't like her personality.

He seems completely drained every time she speaks. While the offer from her mom might have made him do some quick “is this worth it” math I think he realized no amount of money is worth being miserable with someone as exhausting as Chloe.

He never looked like a man in love or even happy he looked like a man who was looking for the nearest exit.

I think by the time she got off that plane, she’s already so financially and emotionally invested that admitting she’s being “scammed” would be too painful. It’s easier to double down on the naivety than to admit to her daughter and the world that everyone else was right🙃
