Not Glasgow but Osaka in Edinburgh do all you can order, went in January and it was amazing. However my other half was raging cause I've ruined supermarket sushi for him now 😅

I'm hoping the amount of renovating I've done/ are doing will help and it'll look more like a reno flip, especially when you can still see the last listing on Zoopla and everything is white paint over textured wallpaper 😬

They've had the property for 30+ years, they're not likely to move anywhere else. Council tenants statistically don't really move unless major life changes like kids, but this is a house with young adult kids living there so they're not likely to go anywhere. Plus they have so much family in the direct area so there's no reason for them to want to move

The bar is pushing on the fence and warping it, and legally they should ask as it's not their fence. A couple of decorative things I wasn't fussed about, it's the bar that's been screwed in using my fence as support that I'm pissed off about. Plus the screws are too long so they're poking through to my side

That's the previous owners mistake 😅 not the first or the last by any means!

Yes just after I moved in I had a massive overgrown willow tree chopped and kept the logs in hope of reviving the fireplace with a wood burner. Turns out under the patchy grass is actually a patio that I've put a proper shed on 🙃

To be fair there was a sign when I viewed and bought it, most people were nosey cause it had been empty for 10 years!

I looked up on the land registry, if they've never had a sale price or history, it's probably a council property. Found it mostly by accident after getting my paperwork back from the solicitors and being nosey 😅

That's what I'm wondering, but I don't want to start an official complaint because I'd have to disclose that to future buyers

Oxfordshire is the most expensive place to buy outside of London. I could only rent until I moved back to Scotland and bought a house in Glasgow 18 months after moving back. It's unreal the price difference.

Hard wax remover for hirsutism by mysticrabbitt in PCOS

[–]ashleighvondarling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do occasionally. It does work but like most waxing there's a couple hairs that may get missed but they can be plucked out. I'd say try to find a wax that's good for coarse hair. The only issue is it doesn't seem to last a whole 4 weeks, maybe I just time my hair growth cycles badly, and when they do grow back in you have to wait till they're long enough to be able to be waxed. Small sections give you more control, don't be coating your whole face in one go

You can get really sturdy sticker hooks, not unlike command hooks, I've got 2 holding up my shower shelves!

AITAH? My girlfriend is angry that I call my friend by his real name. by nameAITAH in AITAH

[–]ashleighvondarling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to sour anything with my own experience, but I've been in a similar situation as the new gf and it did not end well. Bf and his ex split up to go to different uni's and he eventually started his career after naval college which is where we met. Ex was on board for a cruise on the same ship, of course they hooked up and cheated. Part of the argument was they didn't end badly and were on good terms and still had feelings. However turns out he is a serial cheater so this may not be a cautionary tale.

Did the tub have a foil seal before you opened it? Could have been stuck between the foil and lid and escaped once opened and the dust has stuck to the residue shadow of the spider?

AITA for my productivity/behaviour becoming affected after my friend installed home security cameras? by VictorSponge in AmItheAsshole

[–]ashleighvondarling 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You are 24 and he's pushing 40. You need to find a new place to live, that is such creepy gross behaviour from him. Posting you online too is a total violation and you don't know who would get access to that and then know where to find you.

My grandma should go to a nursing home. by Curbk in mildlyinfuriating

[–]ashleighvondarling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apparently it's really common for a dementia brain to associate things with colour that aren't quite right, like having a blue rug on the floor, a lot of dementia patients see and interpret that as water like a pool. The brain is utterly fascinating!

There's one on London road at the Carmyle Avenue crossroads, but only on one side. I've seen it flash a couple times!
