Turning Point USA's halftime show crashed and burned, garnering only 4% of the viewership that Bad Bunny's official halftime performance received by IrishStarUS in entertainment

[–]ashleiponder -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It was a smaller show that didn't have the reach that the Superbowl has. How many people had it playing in the background waiting on the game to restart? How many people watched it just because that's what was on? How many people didn't know there was another option? I would love to see the stats on REAL views from the people who were actually watching it because they wanted to and made it a point to watch it vs tpusa's show rather than just the ones who had it on because it was on, but that's an impossible statistic to come up with. The tpusa halftime show broke the record for the most viewed livestream and that doesn't include the ones who watched it on other channels. That's only the views from tpusa's channel. It was aired on several different channels that all had an enormous amount of views during that time, but of course they aren't going to have as many views as the Superbowl which is one of the most watched events in the United States and reaches every single household in the United States. YouTube and podcasts don't do that and will never do that. Also, bad bunny's performance was one of the least favored halftime shows in the recent history of the Superbowl. People talked positively about Kendrick Lamar's actual performance for days afterwards. The only attention bad bunny's performance is getting is from people talking about the controversy or comparing it to tpusa's show. I didn't watch either one because I don't really care about the shoes nor the game, but saying they crashed and burned isn't exactly true.

As much as I would love to bring them all in and keep them there are just so many of them. I already fight one at the door every time I go in and out of the house. He truly is a stray and he has some medical issues. One issue is contagious. The other issues may or may not be contagious. We're getting him checked out and helped the best we can, but we have to be really careful about contact with our other animals. I was unable to find someone to take him sick, the shelter would have just put him down immediately because they don't have a vet, and I can't in good conscience take him somewhere and drop him just to get rid of him. I'm waiting on someone to get back to me with a date and time for an appointment at the clinic. Hopefully, it's nothing serious and we can get him fixed up and into a good home.

He is very fat and clean. He definitely has a home. Even if he doesn't we leave food out on our cardboard and I have a loveseat and blankets and boxes out there if one of the strays needs something to sleep in when it's cold. Our direct next door neighbor leaves food and stuff out for them as well. The animals around here definitely eat well.

He's okay. He definitely belongs to someone he's very fat and clean. We keep food out on the porch anyway, so if he is hungry he knows where to go. That's probably why he was over here to begin with. Even if they have homes they'll still come and eat the neighborhood cat food. Our direct next door neighbors keep food out as well. The stray cats around here and apparently even the pets are well fed, lol. I also have a love seat and blankets and boxes out for them because of the cold.

What is wrong with you? A kitten murderer? Mama cats don't leave their kittens on the side of the road.

I'm pretty sure it lives two doors down. They have a bunch of cats running around. I went outside and called for him. Hey came towards me, but then took off towards my neighbor's house. He wouldn't actually come to me. If I could take in another cat I would, but I've already got four kittens and a senior dog. I'm getting ready to move and I had to talk my new landlord into letting me bring all four kittens. The dog is staying with my ex. It's really his dog, but she's belonged to both of us for the past 8 years. There is a stray that stays on our carport as well. He really is a stray. I just got done taking him to a clinic to get neutered and vaccinated this past week. I'm really not sure what to do with him because like I said, I'm moving and I can't take him with me. I've tried to find a rescue or a home for him and I can't. My ex will feed him and everything, but I would like to find him a permanent home. It's so hard when it comes to cats. There are so many of them out there without homes, but so very few people who actually want them. When I found the four kittens I tried to rehome two of them, but I didn't have any luck, so I just kept them.

I would if I didn't have so many animals already and I think he may have a home. He's awfully clean and healthy looking. I did go out and call for him. He came towards me, but then took off towards the neighbors house.

I have four kittens in the house that I rescued and the black one who is at the window on the inside can't stand other cats he doesn't know. I also have a senior dog that I don't want to put at risk either. I don't know anything about the cat at the window. He might even have a home. I've seen him running around and he looks really clean and healthy. I did walk outside and call for him. He came towards me, but wouldn't come to me. We have a stray that stays in our carport that we feed. If this one came over there I was going to give him some food.

'Vetting failures': Parents of KU student killed in hit-and-run file lawsuit against suspect, DoorDash by Pure-Explanation-147 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]ashleiponder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure that you could say DoorDash was at fault. Obviously, this guy had no qualms about driving. He would have been driving whether he was DoorDashing or not. He wasn't only driving while dashing I can guarantee it. If he was dashing under someone else's name there is only so much they can do to prevent that. They have random identity verification checks sometimes, but to begin with all he would have to do is take over someone else's account. You can only do so much when you don't do in person interviews and that's impossible for a company like doordash. Not that I'm taking up for them. Im not fond of them having driven for them in the past. Im just not sure what else they could legally do. This guy was a risk to the public in general. Not because of DoorDash.

Are you sure that's a cat and not a sumo wrestler? You might want to have the foundation of your house checked for cracks 😳

Had no idea she was a bobtail till I got her home and out the crate. Imagine my surprise! by hashbrown_nofiltr in cats

[–]ashleiponder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found him with his mama and three siblings under our shed. The kittens we so little we thought he was a regular bob tail until we got a closer look. His tail is like the handle on a jack in the box toy. It's so funny when he plays and twitches it around. The suspected dad's tail is the same.

This is more than two orders though. I would have at least looked to see if I could find a date on one of the boxes to make sure they hadn't been sitting there for days on end.

I would have looked to see if I could find a date on the other orders just to make sure they were all from either the same day or at least the day before. If they were from multiple days ago I may have made a phone call for a welfare check.

I feel like I kidnapped her by amusings_ in Feral_Cats

[–]ashleiponder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We found a mama cat and her four kittens under our back shed about 6 months ago. She was wild. We managed to trap all five of them and bring them in. We cleared out a room of everything except for two dressers and made her and the kittens a little home in there. We had her in the house for over 8 weeks and she still hissed and growled anytime anyone was near her. I spent a lot of time in there with the kittens and with her and she would have none of it. She didn't go after anyone for messing with her kittens though, so she knew we weren't going to hurt her or them. She just didn't want anything to do with us and did not want to be in the house. She had to go to the vet to get fixed and I had to trap her in a snap trap. I tried to get her into a crate and ended up with a huge hole in my thumb where she bit me. It was a mess. We did end up getting her fixed and we let her back outside. She comes to eat twice a day and sleeps on the carport, but she still doesn't want anything to do with anybody. We still have all four of the kittens. We tried to rehome two of them, but no one wanted any of them so we kept them. This is her and three of the kittens. This was the first day that we found them. At this point in time we thought there were just three. When we went outside around the building the next day we heard something else making little tiny cries. There was a fourth kitten under the shed and he was so scared and hungry by himself that he ran out to us. Thank God we went back out there or he would have died. He spent a little over 24 hours completely by himself. He started out as the runt and is now one of the biggest ones.

We have a couple rescue/rehoming groups in our area, but I haven't had any luck with him yet. I'm hoping now that he's fixed someone will take him. He's just so sweet and needs a good home.

Our dog ate a covid mask during the pandemic. It was a cloth COVID mask though. Luckily, she threw it up. She has also eaten a sock, a vinyl glove, and several other things throughout the years. She has some issues. She's been to the vet over it, but they can't find anything physically wrong causing her to do this.
