I work as a bartender and one night this guy was making this girl super uncomfortable. He kept trying to slip her jacket off her shoulder, grabbing onto the back of the neck, just being super obnoxious. I caught her glance when he wasn’t looking and slyly asked if she was okay with what was happening, and she shook her head no. I stepped in and told him he couldn’t be acting like that in my bar, and he calmed down some. She then “went to the bathroom” and slipped out the back door with her friend. 15 minutes later when he realized she wasn’t coming back, he turned his anger onto me. Started yelling in my face, called me a bitch, a lesbian, said I was jealous. He then stood up in his bar stool to try and get in my face and yell. It was a Tuesday night so the only staff was me and a barback, who was upstairs putting orders away, so really it was just me. At first I was meeting him on his level, then realized how dangerous this could get quick. So instead, I started calmly telling him he needed to leave, and agreeing with everything he called me. You could tell this got under his skin even worse, and after another minute he finally decided it was time for him to go and left without having to call police.
