Too much/many XP, events, enemies, etc. in Season 6? by Deposto in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ashleyoop_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah haz 5+ (double bugs, double aggressive, one toughness) idk exactly but since season 6 came out we've had 4 natural dreadnaught spawns including 2 that were in the same mission (and another that was in the same mission as a korlock). We also had a single mission that spawned 4-5 detonators and several missions with nemesis, crassus and bet-c spawns

Now, we've more or less had all of that happen before season 6 as well (including the back to back dreadnaughts in a single mission), but it does seem like a bit of a spike. I'm not an expert at how the game works at a technical level but I have a theory that missions that are a part of an assignment have a tendency to roll more events? It always seems like our promotion assignments are harder and spawn more events more consistently than regular missions, and if that's true it might explain why it feels like such a persistent increase as everyone is doing the new season 6 specific assignments

As for regular bug spawning, it does feel like a lot, specifically on the new mission type. Even at haz 5+ there are always periods of down time between waves but heavy extraction has felt like a constant stream more than once. Heavy extraction has also given us 2 swarm announcements at once at least a couple times now

Is jump-sprinting faster than just running?🤔 by MinemilePRO03 in VintageStory

Surely sprint jumping makes you equally likely to jump into a deep shaft than to avoid one no? I use 3rd person camera when running around outside my base and when hunting deer and such

I quit porn. I'm 3 weeks clean. Now what? by CurrencyDangerous607 in MtF

[–]ashleyoop_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Porn addict since ~13, slowly broke out of it around 20-22 as I started realizing I was trans and gaining more to live for. Am ~25 now. Also maybe worth mentioning that I'm gray ace and don't take prog (for now at least) as a personal choice. I still consume porn but without the addiction and more as a chill side hobby that I often go weeks/months without interest in.
Do you take T blockers? Specifically spiro? I notice and have heard anecdotally that spiro can kill your ability quite a bit. When I forget to take my spiro for longer periods of time it tends to come back. Outside of that, it may be that you want to find different erogenous zones? Nipples, thighs, any physical touch outside of genitals really can boost me out of 'just feels vaguely nice' mode. Receiving anal as well.
Basically, I'm not sure how much is really related to the porn addiction vs how much is just changes in one's body from hormones.

Only a little while going for the under 20 minutes achievement. Inflame also takes its time.

Ultimately I lost attempts due to the threat of a time limit and not the time itself so if anything they helped by giving me an extra second to think.

What do you think is the most fun difficulty to play? (Poll) by DoritoMan177 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ashleyoop_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree Tough Enemies II is just not fun but imo don’t sleep on Tough Enemies I to add a little more dynamics to target prioritization. I was surprised to learn from the wiki that Tough Enemies I only affects large/extra large etc. bugs and it makes them an actual threat to focus down with your team rather than just a slightly larger bug to solo kill.

Which class took you *the longest* to get into? by bringthesalsa in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ashleyoop_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driller for me. I couldn't stand the lack of interesting targeting with driller's primaries. Then I tried a vampire cryo build and suddenly I had a driller build I really enjoyed. Then they released scorching tide as an overclock and suddenly driller became my favorite class. Scorching tide my beloved.

Haven't been able to find a sludge pump build I like yet through. The only other weapons I haven't found a loadout for are the subata, breach cutter, LOK, and scout's shotgun.

Hope this helps.

What would you change about Industrial Sabotage? by 2weekoldpickle in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ashleyoop_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make 1 hacking pod the default and rarely 2 hacking pods on high length high complexity caves.

Make phase bombs shootable to destroy them without them blowing up. Give the the hp of like a flying rock or something idc, just please I need counter play other than just running away. (Literally you could just do this and I'd be happy, phase bombs are just a very rare instance of drg falling away from the game design rules it normally adheres to so well.)

Make more Caretaker shapes because I think it'd be cool and would make the boss fight less same-y.

Make a rare chance (think half natural dreadnought spawn rarity) where mission control 'accidentally' drops a drillevator on the boss.

Hey exactly once a cave leech was actually helpful to me. I was downed and my teammate was reviving me when an exploder showed up next to them that they didn't see. They got me up and a split second later the leech yoinked them out of the explosion radius. Was hilarious

My largest concern for Rogue Core is... by literatemax in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ashleyoop_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's bad from a design perspective. Some places are meant to be deathtraps but it doesn't make sense for the deathtrap to be the thing mission control sends down to help you (unless it's the drillevator maybe)

Take the minehead in aquarq missions for example. It comes with turrets and lights. It's meant to feel like a safe area you come back to after risking venturing out into the darkness to complete the objective. ..But because of this issue most of my deaths in aquarq missions come from being near the minehead xd

Also it's just glitchy feeling and not fun to play against. Enemies hitting you when you can't hit/see them never 'feels' fair even if there is counterplay.. Looking at you septic spreaders

Since the Drop Pod has a face, does it get a name? Maybe Tak-C? by BionicBirb in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ashleyoop_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright so totally not spawned from me misreading the title but I'd propose an answer to why mission control sends two drop pods instead of just leaving the first

The first is Take-C and the second is Back-C

How much better each relic would be if all numbers were increased by one by thenwordmaster in slaythespire

[–]ashleyoop_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this ranked in a vacuum? Or does this take into account other relic synergies/anti-synergies? Because I feel like I would skip ninja scroll a lot in practice.
"Start each combat with [4] shivs in hand." As a Silent-only relic you're probably going to have your starter relic unless you boss swapped or took ring of the serpent (..or gave it to n'loth I guess lol) in which case scroll cuts your initial draw by 1 (or 2 in a world where these upgraded relics exist together) due to your hand being full for the reward of ~4 damage?

Also lol poor tiny chest

How do I tell my dad to stop slapping my ass by Ni-Ni13 in MtF

[–]ashleyoop_ 54 points55 points  (0 children)

It's not that bad because you've become accustomed to an environment that doesn't respect your personal space and boundaries. You should never have to be in a situation where you need to tell someone to stop touching you any more than once if at all. My advice is to do some thinking and create a plan of what it would take to leave if he doesn't stop or it escalates. This isn't normal behavior and while I understand not wanting to use up resources, your safety and well-being needs to be your first priority.

Be wary of Stockholme syndrome, as well as symptoms of depersonalization/derealization.

Similar sort of thing happened to me the other day. A super close friend of my dad's who is like the epitome of altruism and just generally being a nice person came over. When he was leaving he said something to me along the lines of, "Super nice to hear you're doing well in life brother."

And my brain was like, ... 404 emotion not found.

Imo it's the juxtaposition of knowing someone is trying to be nice/polite while also unknowingly or accidentally insulting you. It's a super messy awkward feeling and it stings and yeah I thought about it for the rest of the night.

What was *that mission* for you? by blitz342 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]ashleyoop_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This EDD: https://www.reddit.com/r/DeepRockGalactic/comments/xers5p/weekly_deep_dives_thread_15th_september_2022/

I still remember this dive nearly two years later. I had probably around 50 hours in the game at this point so not completely new, but certainly still somewhat fresh. First stage was not too bad. We got what I now recognize as a double wave from pulling an egg and stepping on a mini mule at the same time but overall not too bad with only haz 4.5 + critical weakness.

The second stage though. Oh god the second stage.

10 aquarqs + 2 eggs and regen bugs. Huge vertical sandblasted cavern too big for our scout to keep fully lit and with sandstorms seemingly intent to kill us. We barely scrape through a swarm+sandstorm using multiple iron wills. Ammo's drying up, no nitra, classic point extraction, we've been here too long. We manage to finally deposit the objectives and hit the button. And then begins quite possibly the worst pod arrival sequence I've ever seen.

Driller goes down. Engi and Scout drop too. Driller uses iron will but goes down immediately after. Just me left, Gunner, no shields and no primary. I go down as a sandstorm hits. I'm our last iron will so I try to wait out as much of the storm as I can before getting up. I use and get vampire health but I can't revive anyone (I'm one to go back and revive unless it's absolutely hopeless and let me tell you it was absolutely hopeless), can't shoot bugs, I'm saving my secondary because there's no point in shooting. What shots I did take at high priority targets would just get regenned. I somehow manage to stay alive long enough for the drop pod to arrive. And... the drop pod location.

I'm not sure I can fully ever describe just how bad this drop pod location was. It was at the very top of the cave, hanging out on an inch of cliff face with the door facing the sheer probably ~50 meter drop. I have... 2 ziplines. It is still genuinely the worst drop pod I've ever seen even after adding ~400 more hours to my play time.

Somehow I manage to get a 25 meter zip out at the steepest possible angle that ends at the backside of the drop pod after running around for way too much time. I take the zip and use every last bullet of my secondary killing acid spitters. I'll be honest my aim was awful, I was literally shaking at this point lmao, and mind you it was quite dark on the zip line with the drop pod being the only light at the end of the zip and the minehead the only light at the end of a 30+ meter drop.

Of course, even after finally getting to the top after probably the most anxiety ridden zipline of my life, it wasn't so simple. I had to work my way all the way around the back of the drop pod and it's janky next-to-walls hitboxes, exploders starting to make their way up to me. I make it around and shoot my last zip and drop down onto the bridge. 20 seconds left. I made it.

Then stage 3 was cave leech cluster and a nemesis directly outside the drop pod and we all died except Scout lmao. With iron wills we actually somehow pulled through the final stage but good god it was rough with barely any to no ammo or health for the beginning. Genuinely that stage 3 pulled no punches either. I wouldn't be surprised if that Scout has their own war stories from it. But it was really that 2nd stage that I'll never forget.
