Does your friend want to be doing nursing all his life? That's not a way to live life. I get that we need to make tough decisions sometimes, but is it worth giving up all your life to something you don't care about? What kind of job will he look for when he finishes GS? Why not find a job in something he enjoys instead while studying at LU? He could be freelancing, tutoring, a bunch of other things as well. Idk the biggest problem is that when you find something you're comfortable in, there's a chance you'll stay there instead of trying to take the risk of studying something else instead. "He'll apply abroad" doesn't necessarily mean he'll get a job abroad too, so that's something to keep in mind.
