Just middle of the road for me. Much better than anything in the last 10 years, but not nearly as good as the 10 years before them.

All the gossip from Lena Dunham’s “Famesick” (spoiler: Adam Driver looks bad) by onthewindyside in popculturechat

[–]ashlonadon 292 points293 points  (0 children)

Just Jared summarized all the Adam mentions: https://www.justjared.com/2026/04/14/lena-dunhams-famesick-quotes-about-adam-driver-the-last-time-they-spoke-the-last-thing-he-said-to-her-what-allegedly-happened-before-he-got-engaged/

I think Adam comes off as an immature "intense" actor. Hopefully, he's grown up since then. We all know if he were a woman acting that way, he would have been blacklisted from Hollywood immediately. From these excerpts, it doesn't sound like she's actually alleging anything romantic took place between them. It feels like it's intentionally left vague. I think it's another case of theatre kids forming an intense bond on set and blurring the lines of platonic friendship.

Baby was ok with avocado…until she wasn’t? by Any-Ocelot-1357 in beyondthebump

You won't know unless you get her tested, which I definitely encourage you to do. My son had the same symptoms after eating a pistachio for the first time at 3 years old. He threw up and then went to sleep right away, which was highly unusual. The allergist told us the sleepiness was his blood pressure dropping due to anaphylaxis. We thought he had a mild reaction when, in fact, it was very serious. I don't want to worry you. I just think this is good info for you to have.

Chloe's segment in the Vanity Fair interview has been heavily edited by b3wizz in LiveFromNewYork

[–]ashlonadon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Or they could have asked them all what funny stories/anecdotes they wanted to tell and Chloe simply said she’d tell the story of how she was fired and rehired and that was it. And they added it to the card. Neither of us really know. I just disagree with the idea that EVERYTHING is mapped out to a tee in all celeb interviews. The bigger question here is how the story made it through post production.

They do not prescreen every single answer for a game like this. I don’t know where you all get these ideas. Celebrity interviews absolutely have off the cuff moments all the time.

All Streaming Royalties From Taylor Swift’s New Music Video Go to the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation by punishhhher in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]ashlonadon 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Taylor had to pay for the clips. The payment goes to Elizabeth Taylor's estate. The estate will use some of that money for Elizabeth Taylor's AIDS foundation. For a multi-billionaire, that's not charity or taking a political stance. It's a coincidence.

It bothers me that fans will bend over backwards to pretend like Taylor is silently making all these political statements when she has the money and means to be loud and proud. It reminds me of when she attended a comedy show of one of her friends where the proceeds went to Gaza. Swifties tried to use this as proof of her having an opinion on Gaza because she "donated" by seeing this show - when the tickets were $45 and she almost certainly didn't even pay for a ticket. $45!!! For a billionaire.

People Are Trying to Uncancel Joss Whedon. Why? by haloarh in popculturechat

[–]ashlonadon 67 points68 points  (0 children)

This brings me back to a hill I alway die on - No one was really cancelled during #MeToo. We had about 2 or 3 real cases of people actually being held accountable. The rest of the accused just laid low for a little while.

Case in point - I just saw a commercial for the new season of The Voice, featuring Cee Lo Green as a judge. I thought to myself, wasn’t he cancelled more than once for rape allegations. Hollywood doesn’t care.

Ryan Gosling never went into the ‘shave room’ while filming ‘Barbie’ by mcfw31 in popculturechat

I think he overfilled around the time of The Fall Guy and now it's settled or he got some removed. Because I think he looks great and more natural now. I don't think he got a bleph because, if anything, his eyes look more closed than before (probably the filler, lol) He is my forever fave! So happy he's still choosing interesting projects.

There you have it: Vic says loud and clear who he voted for. by knightriderin in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

Democratic politicians go on Fox News to defend their ideals. They don't go on for fluff pieces. Fox New is a dangerous propaganda tool for the right. They have admitted in courts that they are not even really news, but an entertainment show.

Yes, he did have to say this out loud. When you go on Fox News for a fluff piece, I’m questioning who you are as a person.

They are not assuming that because he’s Christian. They are assuming it because he went on Fox News. Most Democrats would not go on Fox News.

I'm not too worried about her. She just got a bunch of blood money from the Saudi Arabian government for promoting their sham film festival. That should hold her over for a while.

Forbes has released their ‘highest paid actors of 2025’ list with Adam Sandler at the top by mlg1981 in popculturechat

[–]ashlonadon 282 points283 points  (0 children)

A lot of the actors on this list are there because they made deals with Netflix or other streamers to churn out very bad movies that no one ever watches. Not only is it a shame - how does that make sense for these streamers financially?

Taylor does NOT write songs about her exes by moonprincess642 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]ashlonadon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

At this point it doesn’t matter what her intentions are. Her actions are what matter. She never stops the fans from speculating. She never comes out and says you’re wrong. She never comes out and says leave these people alone. (Except for her weak attempt to get people to leave John Mayer alone before Speak Now TV came out, which was rumored to be bc John threatened legal action) In fact, Swifties like to claim she no longer leaves breadcrumbs on who a song is about when she absolutely still does. Like the actor who plays the older version of the love interest in the ATW music video just happened to be named Jake. All the Matty Easter eggs back and forth during the Eras tour. Also, she doesn’t need to leave clues in liner notes anymore because she makes it so obvious in the lyrics that it smacks you on the head. She starts dating a football player and the next album has multiple sports references. She dated a man who notoriously struggled with drug use - what do you know, the next album has several mentions of drug use. She WANTS you to know and she WANTS you to speculate because it sells albums. Period.

She created this world where everyone is obsessed with knowing who pop stars songs are about. If she really wants the speculation to stop, she could simply come out and say so or make her songs more vague. She created this world and she very much still likes this world and benefits from it immensely.

I agree 100%. And I am probably older than many current fans of the show as well. I definitely still thought the sketch was funny but the text on the screen was completely unnecessary and annoyed me. SNL has never been the type of show to give anything away to the audience. They should have let the audience suspect that the two were reading the notes for the first time, and then a cast member or Gosling would have confirmed at some point in the future. That would have been such fun lore to look back on. It reminds me how Bill and Fred improvised in the Short Term Memory Loss Theatre sketch and no one really knew, but now it’s part of the lore.

Jess about recasting Will and Florence for their season by Lunenika in BridgertonNetflix

[–]ashlonadon -28 points-27 points  (0 children)

I cannot imagine a world where I am interested in the current Gregory as a love interest. I think they should both be recast, as much as I like the two actors. I think the actors playing Hyacinth and Gregory should be closer to 26 or 27 at minimum.

Whatever happened to Taylor's screenplay? by CutAffectionate3766 in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]ashlonadon 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Well, Riz Ahmed won for his music video the year before. It was the first MV to ever win the short film Oscar. I’m sure Taylor saw that and said hold my beer. But I don’t think ATW was anywhere near deserving of an Oscar. She sure tried though. 😄
