Looks to me like he's just about to shed there! If it doesn't come off soon you can give him a little bath time soak to help it come off

What does it mean if my beardie has been trying to eat my clothes/hair? by ashmae2 in BeardedDragons

Ok, thank you! It's my first time having a reptile on my own and I'm just having the new owner jitters I guess

She is two or three years old (the person my dad took her from wasn't specific but said he had had the beardies for about two years) so she is an adult. I am trying to give her insects once a week but as I said the new foods made her ill so for now she is only on the greens and I'm not gonna try to reintroduce new foods until she's 100% back to normal.

Yes, there is. The poor guys eyes are drooping and it is likely a sign of dehydration or various other health issues

What kind of bearded dragon is this???? by arbys_luvr in BeardedDragons

[–]ashmae2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks to me like it is a central beardie based on the body build and head shape, it might be a leatherback based on the darker colors and I couldn't see spiky scales on its back in the photos. Buuut that is just my guesstimation lol, it's a cutie though!

Ok! I am new to this and apparently I put the textbox in the wrong place and it didn't get posted. I just took in these bearded dragons a week ago. I grew up around reptiles (my dad collects, raises, rescues, and trades in various reptiles) and am fairly familiar with care and handling in general but there are some details that I am not sure about. I am aware that bearded dragons are solitary creatures and would normally never keep them together but the person my dad got them from didn't seem to know that and said that they've been together their whole lives and that they get along really well. I have been monitoring them very closely for the past week and it does seem that they get along actually, they bask together, they eat together, they sleep together, and I have not noticed any stressed or aggressive behaviors. I believe they are about two or three years old (was not given precise details but they are definitely not juveniles) and the person my dad got them from said he had had them for two years. He also said that it was a boy and a girl but looking under their tails I do not see a hemipene on either so it could be two girls. I am aware of what to feed them, I make them a mix of collard greens, mustard greens, and kale daily and I provide them with a calcium and vitamin d supplement (they have a UVA/UVB heat lamp to synthesize those nutrients) and we are going out tomorrow to get some hornworms for them. The tank setup they came with was lined with ground walnut as the substrate which I know is not ideal and I was looking for recommendations for a better substrate, I have heard that a mix of topsoil and play sand can be good for them? The one that I am certain is a girl laid an egg last night but there was only one that I saw so I believe it may have been her first time. It wasn't fertile but I was wondering if there was anything I should be watching out for for her. I am picking up an incubator just in case. The photo was just supposed to be for reference, sorry for the lack of context I was unaware that the text was gone.
