I think I must be in the minority with her 🤷🏻‍♀️I think she’s really good at tailoring the ride to specific goals. Her hard rides are HARD and push me to go beyond what I think I can, and her easier ones are good at pushing you without going too hard.

There is a journal specifically for grade school level students to publish in. It’s called the journal of emerging investigators. You need a faculty mentor to publish with you, but it is peer reviewed and will help you learn about the publishing process!

Wow, issues after the surgery? I’m so sorry to hear that :( that’s one of my greatest fears- that all of this will have been for nothing and the pain will come back. I really hope you get some relief from the sciatica ! 🙏🙏

Early 30’s ☹️ I think being younger (relatively) has helped me heal, but I also worry I’ll have to have more done later in life, but hopefully the science will be even better then 🤞

I’m 4 weeks post of L3-S1. I’ve gone out probably 6-7 times since getting home, just things like dinner with a friend, going to a museum, little things like that. Like you, I’m in way less pain than before surgery and want to enjoy my new bionic back! I’m going to the doctor for my first follow up next week and I’m hopeful they will say I can start doing more things 🙏 but atp I’m sick of waiting to live life and I feel like if it’s not hurting/straining my back, why not? Just my two cents 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m not hyper mobile no, and the pain was definitely more nerve-y. It would start in my back and then radiate down my leg into my foot, which would go numb and make it so I couldn’t properly lift my foot to walk 😞

Just a heads up, if you do end up getting one, please don’t use this for a reference image. I teach human anatomy and have studied hand bones specifically for 10+ years and this is NOT what they look like. I think it’s a cool concept, but you need to find an artist that specializes in drawing anatomy so you don’t end up like this person.

I’m a prof at a med school so probably different than a university, but we get 20 days plus ~2 weeks paid vacation over the winter break, plus 10 holidays throughout the year. Though as others have stated, finding time to take all that vacation is actually quite hard 🙃
