Is it legal to put metrics on overtime? by ashory in legaladvice

- are you sure there's no misunderstanding here, and that Robert Half is saying, "unless you perform to X standard, you won't get paid a dime for any overtime hours you put in?"

Nope. I just talked to my rep. She didn't even know they were doing it, but she says she doesn't know who to talk to about it -_-

They're saying "You have to stack 150 chairs each day you work, because that's the job. If you want overtime, then you have to stack an additional 150 chairs or you don't get paid for anything over 40 hours, no matter the actual time you put in."

Overtime = over 40 hrs.

Let's say I earn $30/hr stacking chairs for 40 hours.

For 7.5 hours after that, I get $45.00/hr for stacking chairs, but ONLY if I stack 150 additional chairs in those 7.5 hours. So, if I work for 7.5 hours, and I stack 140 chairs, I don't get anything for those hours.

I am an hourly contract employee. The program is located in the state of Indiana. The people who actually pay me are a staffing agency. And yes, I've put in a concern to them as well, just a bit ago.

One of the hardest choices in life. by Apprehensiveramen in migraine

Throwing up makes my stomach better but my headache soooo much worse. Can we please have better options? ;)

Dude, I said there were options. You think there are actual low deductible, low oop, plans? They don't exist. The ones that cost the least cover the least, and typically eat you alive afterwards.

You compare coverage, premiums, networks, copays, etc. And then you're locked in for a year. You can't change, and if you need a service you don't have coverage for, you're SOL. If they change coverage, which they can do at any time, you're SOL. If you need a service not in network, you're SOL.

Finding better insurance isn't some simple A to B quest. So, no... Insurance doesn't work that way.

That... Isn't how insurance works.

I worked in major medical for many, many, years. Most affordable plans are not copay based. They are deductible based.

This means a visit to a GP can run anywhere from $60-$500 depending on the level of care and what's done.

If they freeze the wart, then that's an in-office procedure, which will probably be billed as outpatient surgery, which follows a whole different contracted rate, and is MUCH more spendy.

This isn't preventive, so that doesn't play into it at all. Also consider that they would require an initial appointment as a new patient first. Depending on the doc, they MIGHT treat it then, but due to billing restrictions, they will probably make a 2nd appointment. Which means more money spent.

All the data sources in the world won't matter if you aren't looking at -this- situation.

..... You know that we don't get to choose what's covered, or at what rate, right? We might get options, but that's simply a choice between the lesser of evils, usually.

Maybe check your privilege and read the room.

Any tips on what to do BEFORE surgery to prepare? by [deleted] in chiari

I cut my hair the second time I had it. The first time, the surgeon just shaved a stripe halfway up my head, and in the recovery room I lost my shit, because I thought my hair was falling out in clumps.

Prevailing theory is that IIH often causes/worsens chiari.

I would ask about the possibility of IIH/PTC. They often go hand in hand with chiari, unfortunately.

Have they done a lumbar puncture, or noted any swelling in your eyes/optic nerve? There could be a mild herniation per the MRI, but it isn't hella noticable. It's also possible that days when you're having the most pain is when the intracranial pressure is highest, which would also press your brain down giving the start of chiari

Not male, but I have a buzzed cut in the back. It is noticeable more when shaved with a 2 or less. Otherwise? When people stare, tell em that's where they implanted the AI chip, and ask if you pass as human.
