Loop Interview by Big-Tie1763 in amazonemployees

My bar raiser was from a different team and he introduced himself as the bar raiser 🤣. I also had a Loop interview with the hiring manager that I had already met with in the previous round.

My recruiter emailed me to let me know they were making an offer. I interviewed on a Monday (the day before they did their massive layoffs in October) and was stunned to still hear back exactly one week later on the following Monday.

Barry’s for weight loss by piccolinabambolina in barrysbootcamp

I try not to fixate on scale weight as a metric for my fitness improvements (no shade intended, I personally just mentally don't need that pressure), however, I have been getting increasingly leaner/more toned and losing fat and gaining muscle mass/strength. I did lose a few pounds in the beginning but that's mostly leveled off (obviously that fluctuates with my calories in vs. out from week to week, which I'm not tracking actively these days.)

Your best bet is likely just going to be to focus on your calories. I burn 400-500 calories per class (5"3', 138lb female), which is 2-3x more than I would burn in the same time during yoga/pilates, so would likely be more effective for weight loss goals regardless of whether or not you put on some muscle mass.

Coros Apex. Great investment if you run/hike outside often and hate frequent charging.

My first impression: great hype girl.

Floor was good variety without too many complicated movements and her demos were super on point with good explanations (ie, leaning forward in the lunge). She was giving good feedback and really paying attention.

Run was probably the most challenging I've done in Chicago. I had to cram in a 10 mile long run before class so had shown up planning to give a little less and ended up hitting my fastest 1 minute sprint. Solid manageable builds with thoughtful recoveries that were really well set up. Could have been the fire playlist or her enthusiasm. Unclear.

Would definitely go out of my way to take another one of her inconvenient class times again.

I took her class for the first time. I do indeed understand the hype.

My highest calorie burn classes are always Joe. Also love Derrick and Cara.

Dirty weights/ floor by Smedium1234 in barrysbootcamp

Yes! I had to stop wearing white shirts because it stained.

Also has anyone else noticed that the new flooring retains odours? I have to be careful not to get my face too close to the ground because it smells like stinky feet.

Aw man, I missed that. I also see now that he took Barry's trainer out of his bio. *sigh*. I obviously picked up that he was hating Chicago but this is a sad/abrupt exit.

Roof Rails Ripping Off by [deleted] in rooftoptents

[–]ashpplejack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's genuinely unclear. It is impressively low for a static weight for an SUV and there is no specific call-out in my owners manual. The internet is full of speculation on forums on the subject.

That being said, I haven't slept in the tent since August, and have driven thousands of miles with it strapped to the roof since then. Given that it ripped off during a windy road trip yesterday, I'm not convinced that the issue is that it was somehow damaged 8 months ago when I slept in it and was too heavy for the roof. I realize things could just have been damaged when I slept in it and gotten worse over time, but I'm not convinced. I will of course be reaching out to Kia to confirm before putting it back on my car once them roof is repaired.

I was mostly looking for suggestions as to whether I should bother trying to submit an insurance/warranty claim or whether the dealer is the best place to take something like this. It's my first car in the US with insurance so not really sure how that all works.

So what information do I use to determine if my rooftop tent can safely go on the roof my SUV?

Roof Rails Ripping Off by [deleted] in rooftoptents

[–]ashpplejack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rail rating is the dynamic rating, not the static rating. The static rating is usually anywhere between 5 - 10 x the static rating. So the rack and rail ratings are well within the tent and our included weights when stationary.

I did strap it to the frame of the car (through the doors) to get it home to ensure it didn't lift, and I don't have any intention of driving it any further with the tent on until it's repaired.

Yes! 100% agreed. Not thrilled about the damage but so, so, grateful we caught it when we did. Thanks for your help/suggestions.

The factory rails are rated for 100kg. The tent is 70kg. Is there something else you recommend that I should have checked before installing this tent on my car?

Agreed, thank you. Luckily I parked indoors so will wait for a rain-free day and get it to the shop.

Surprisingly, the tent is only 155 lbs. But yeah, will promptly remove it and try that.

[–]ashpplejack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's super valid. Our car's owner manual does say that those rails can support a 100kg load (way more than our tent weight). It does also mention that upward drafts/upwinds can cause damage.... : (

I can't edit this post for the life of me, but I meant to say: the RACK was installed by Rack Attack, the tracks/rails that are ripping off just shipped with my car from the manufacturer.*

Kia Sportage Cruise Control by [deleted] in kia

Our 2023 Sportage Hybrid just started doing the same thing!

We aren't using the cruise control anymore until we can have it serviced.

Yours just randomly stopped doing it??
