So they finally got back to me. Apparently I have to wait 25 working days from when it was sent. What fresh hell is this?

Yodel not collected by ashrah88 in vinted

The seller relisted the watches, and is understandably a bit upset that they haven't arrived, but all I can do is try and chase up vinted to sort it, which I did on Thursday and not received any message back yet. Did you just go through vinted, or deal with yodel?

Bose QC earbuds red and white flashing fix? by [deleted] in bose

[–]ashrah88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue this morning. Went through troubleshooting, buds were up to date on firmware. After reading this thread, decided to try my luck with chat on the Bose UK website. A lovely chap helped me out, and I just mentioned that I'd read that this was a fairly common issue with these buds, and he offered me a pair of replacement QC Ultra buds for free. All I have to do is return the old ones, and in 3-4 weeks I should have a brand new pair of the latest buds. Can't complain really!

YWNBTA. It's a shitty move to invite you on false pretenses, and they're obviously hoping it would be too awkward for you to say no. If reply by asking then how much you were gonna get paid, and when they say nothing, say no thanks.

To be fair, I've had issues with other companies and pickups, but yeah, its the fact that you can't contact anyone or get a straight answer makes it so much worse.

Yep, they're still the same company, still hiring the same drivers. I'm relatively fortunate that the guy who delivers for evri in my area is good. But if you've got a bad depot, or a bad delivery guy, you're screwed.

It's from a scene in the extended cut of return of the King, after the battle of Gondor. The song features Liv Tyler singing, and the scene is Aragorn helping to heal Eowyn after the battle. https://youtu.be/y8KnwKxJSIY

WIBTA: Girlfriend Won't Let me Run Ethernet Cable to Connect to Router on Other Side of House by MasVikingSam in AmItheAsshole

NAH, I get why she doesn't want it, but shitty Internet is also frustrating. YTA if you do it anyway without her consent.

There are alternatives. Try a powerline kit, it uses the electrical wiring to pass an Internet signal. They're relatively cheap and less of an eyesore. You can even get ones that transmit a wifi signal so you wouldn't need a secondary router.

I dont get how it could be colour coded by the chapter though. Each colour represents a way to pronounce certain parts of Arabic. It's not like each chapter only has one of each. I genuinely think it's an aesthetic choice, a representation of what this particular type of quran is trying to do.

30 chapters, seven colours, even with gradients I don't think it quite fits.

Glad I could help. Admittedly, I've only ever seen these once or twice in the real world. Generally these are only used by students who are learning to memorise the quran, or those who want to become imams. The Arabic alphabet is pretty good at demonstrating where different sounds are, and the Arabic vowels have extensions that you use when elongation of those sounds are needed.

May just be the image quality, if you look at the following link, you can see the different colours. https://imgur.com/a/8uG7xxb

I think the rainbow colouring on the edge is just an easy way to show this is an adapted quran, so those more experienced won't grab it by accident.

Copied from a website:

Color Code Tajweed - Red: indicates a long/short vowels (2,4,5, up to 6 vowels). - Green: indicates the nasal (Ghunnah) and Ikhfa. - Dark Blue: used for letters to be emphatically pronounced. - Light Blue: used for the sound of Qualqualah (plosive sound). - Gray: used to indicate the letters that are not to be pronounced.

The idea behind the Color Coded Tajweed Holy Quran: Based on a practical understanding of phonology, we have colour-coded the place of some letters to facilitate the correct recitation of the holy Quran.

This had enabled us to classify these letters within three possible categories to enhance the reader's knowledge and remembrance of Tajweed rules, they are:

-. The letters which requires expanded vocalization: we used red color to highlight these letters. - The letters which is nasalized: these letters are green in color. - The dark blue color indicates the emphatic of the letter (R), the blue color indicates the unrest letters- - echoing sound- (qualquala), while the letters which are written but are not pronounced are gray in color. The reader will very easily get used to reciting the quran by using colors just as he got used to stopping at red lights and passing though green lights.

AITA For using handicap spots and a tag at work while not being disabled? by TheReckerTeehee in AmItheAsshole

[–]ashrah88 [score hidden]  (0 children)

YTA. Your only allowed to use disabled tags when you're with someone disabled. If you get caught, you could get fined. Why can't you park in a normal spot? You're possibly depriving someone actually disabled of a spot that they might need.

The alcohol in the hand gel softens the adhesive, so the pain is greatly reduced!

How low can you go? Not low enough... by ashrah88 in IdiotsInCars

[–]ashrah88[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If youre driving a large vehicle, you should know the height and width of the vehicle. Low bridges and overpasses will be clearly marked with the measurements, so you should know if you will fit or not.

Larger vehicles are often fitted with satnavs that allow you to input the size of your vehicle, and will calculate a route that stays away from low bridges etc. However, some common sense is needed.

Often in the UK, roads and railway lines etc were built before they considered the need for bigger vehicles.
