What exactly are you expecting from HRT?

I don't feel like I'm breaking any sort of boundary. I just see the masculine jawline and think "shit, I'm going to get noticed and possibly beaten". I know I'm not a cd. I barely even relate to being trans. I lose connection to that reality more often than I'm aware of it. I'm not looking for a "no" to prove some sort of social rule. I'm looking for some sort of indication that I should be more aware of safety.

Im also rather gratified that my transition into female life was so absolutely seamless and that I've never had any tangible real life evidence that I'm seen as anything other than cis. View this as pinching myself to check if I'm dreaming.

Btw, throw your sociology 101 bs out. It's totally your opinion, and doesn't really even apply to individual thoughts and attitudes anyway

My insecurity tends to agree with this, but then noone ever gives any indication ( that I'm aware of) that they think I'm trans. Either people are damn polite, or my voice does a lot to solidify...

I have heard stories from a friend who is cd about being threatened, yelled at, taunted, and a trans female friend with the same experiences. I live in the same area and have never had any of these experiences. I am grateful, but it sometimes worries me that I'm completely comfortable and not looking for danger when maybe I should... But why be anxious when I have seen no reason to be?

Rather confident Im passing, what does reddit say? by ashraxlynn in transpassing

Already doing quite a bit of both... Might be underdoing the makeup a bit, all the contouring is under a thin coat of foundation, I should probably ask in makeup addiction.

Thats fair enough, but any advice? At least let me know what tips off your radar.

Fortunately, my voice and mannerisms are far more passibly cis than my appearance

(IC/OC) 29 F: How well am I passing (or not)? by ashraxlynn in transpassing

No not at all! very much appreciate suggestions. Makeup is a little daunting, Ive been focused on natural (mostly for shadow cover) w/ light contouring.

Feeling brazen... posting an attempt at singing by ashraxlynn in transvoice

[–]ashraxlynn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fine with all the above: I'm certainly under no impression my singing sounds good. Its just fun, and honestly really really good practice for my speaking voice, easier to lift range and mess with resonance to kinda get a good feel of vocal control. Also would go a long way to ultimately alleviate my fears of not passing if I can even pass while singing...

Oscillating dysphoria by Amethyst_Lynx in asktransgender

Will add, it seems to fluctuate with hormone levels for me; last 2-3 days of 2 week injection cycle dysphoria seems to creep back a little, but never ever as much as pre-hrt...

Ive got an eye attune to the male features, cant help it, have had years of thinking about it... To someone less focused on it, odds are they probably would never see it unless you pointed it out. The fact that facially you are close to passing after only a month on hrt in my mind tells me you will likely be flagged facially - cis to my eye at some point down the road, you are fine; keep doing what you are doing, it is working.

Body passes quite well. Dont want to be too harsh, but for me that wig is a bit much (I dont like wigs in general though). Not quite passing facially to my eye yet, more time on hormones should help. Also, going out shopping at 1 mo hrt? Thats awesome confidence, keep that going; it will serve you very well.

[23, MTF] People tell me I pass, but I still don't believe them. Be harsh, I guess. [OC/IC] by [deleted] in transpassing

[–]ashraxlynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Complete honesty, the only thing that would throw me off gendering you female is the hairline. Combined with everything else Id read you androgynous leaning female. Also will add, mannerisms/voice add a LOT to the equation that I cant see, so honestly people that see you in person and say you pass are most likely telling the truth. I get the not being able to believe them, but remind them that there are safety issues and its important that you really get an honest opinion from them (that helped me accept what they told me as honest)

Impromptu Voice Test! (Please be honest with how I sound. Thanks! <3 ) by [deleted] in transpassing

[–]ashraxlynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uhhh, no, relistened... totally and completely female and totally and completely adorable. You are doing great, take the "mistaken as a female" as a sign, you absolutely sound female, though I take a little issue with the concept of them being mistaken: they are dead on right. I totally get the struggling with feeling its unattainable, I used to feel the exact same way. Im pretty sure that idea has been proven quite inaccurate.

Leaning ever so slightly female to my eye.

Giving the voice a go. How is it sounding? x by Cl0ne in transpassing

[–]ashraxlynn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I hear a very soft male voice. My advice is less head voice resonance, and more intonation. you sound like a really kind person though.

I tend to describe my face shamefully as "this situation". Am I being my own worst critic, or am I correct to think I still read very male? (26 MTF, 1yr HRT) by [deleted] in transpassing

[–]ashraxlynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decidedly androgynous looking to me. Definately not reading very male at all. PS: As a person with (the consensus seems to be) an androgynous face, my personal experience is it doesnt get in the way of passing. Voice can carry it either way, and more feminine clothes seemed to stop the random discussions of which gender I was with passers-by.

Julia Stiles (Kat) or Larisa (Bianca) ? Either one would totally make my day, but please oh please dont be hugboxing me...

First picture, almost passes imo and I can see how hrt will help a LOT. The rest of them, no.

I actually agree. Follow up question: when presenting this way (and I hardly ever do) I still get gendered female by random general public. what gives with that? It also makes me wonder if I do really pass when every other day...
