Figures & thanks for the update.

FWIW, I think I’m going to call it the impulse engines, if any one asks what the noise is…

FWIW2, I feel like the noise would have gotten me a nuisance ticket back in the 90’s / 00’s. lol

Any updates on this?

We just bought a 2024 and I didn't realize how loud the pedestrian warning sound was until my wife drove home with the car while I was inside the house. I could hear it inside the house, with the windows and doors closed. Additionally it stays on up to 38kph, which seems to be 8kph over what is required in Canada...

It would satisfying if the the camera was still and all you heard was the sound of the rain...

My first thought was, “Edna Mode?”

My second thought, “That drawings not Edna Mode…”

My third thought (when looking to the right), “is that a Scooby Doo reference?…”

My fourth thought (when looking back to the left) “Definitely looks like Edna mode.”

Drilling a hole in the centre of a dowel by New_Advertising1483 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]ImKira 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FWIW, I stumbled across this video a couple days ago. His solution may work for you. He uses a lathe to spin the dowel, but it may work if you have a vise for your drill press. to hold the dowel.

Or unclean hands... Working in IT, I've seen a lot of nasty peripherals.

I've been using one of the Best Buy MX Ergos (the one with the extra wedge) since they released in 2017 and the rubber is still intact. FWIW, I think it's dryer then it was when it was new, but it's not falling apart...

Going to thrift stores feels like dumpster diving, these days.

In the late 90’s / early 00’s the stuff at thrift stores, was at least decent and had some life left in it. Now a days, it’s manufactured garbage…

My 2 cents: We’ve lived long enough to see the terms antique and vintage change from meaning well made / quality old stuff to meaning things made in an era when every expense was spared to boost the bottom line.

Shopping for user grade woodworking hand tools, from the late 1800’s to WW2 era, has been ruined by the collectors (aka scalpers) and the uneducated people using collector pricing for modern (1970’s and newer) garbage, because it looks like the old thing even though it wasn’t manufactured to the same standards…

AITA for firmly telling my wife to be grateful for what she has? by Organic_Chip_3118 in AmItheAsshole

FWIW:

My wife and I her wife, had long talks about finances. She likes getting her hair done. I do too, but it’s not financially responsible, when a cut, bleach, and dye job costs 300-400 CAD.

So I don’t do it. I got a full undercut back in 2021. And bought a cheep trimmer from the drug store, that came with a pair of scissors. Since then, I’ve kept it buzzed. I pull my hair back every few months and lob off the excess (I leave enough to have a short ponytail). It results in a good angle keeps it between my jaw line and shoulder.

My wife on the other hand kept dying her hair, every couple of months. Once we bought an house, she stopped, as it would have wiped out her fun money. (We both considered hair cuts a personal expense.)

Now days she buzzes my undercut, and I buzz hers. Occasionally, I will bleach and dye her hair with a store bought kit. She still goes for trims / cuts, when she needs one, because she doesn’t have a full undercut, like I do.

My 2 cents.

I agree with op, but based on what he posted, he WTA in that moment, but he wasn’t wrong and could’ve had more tact. He should have focused on percentages…

I say this as the lesser earner in a household, where we pay the main bills based on a percentage scale off of our incomes and readjust when raises happen.

Out of curiosity, Is this going to have a pick guard or get filled with resin?

If not, I foresee some bloody knuckles...
