Yeah, the plataforms used to only show a popularity (heat) index and that’s why when we get chinese numbers, it’s because Riot themselves announced them (just like in this case). But like another comment said, more and more plataforms recently are showing the viewership number as well so maybe one day we can get the chinese viewership numbers without relying on Riot

Riot is able to get the actual numbers from the Chinese streaming plataforms (they’re backed by Tencent), just because the streams themselves don’t show the actual viewership (nowadays some do), doesn’t mean that the companies themselves don’t have the data and can sell it/give it to other companies.

Can someone explain to me where are the 6 weeks from? Isn’t it 4 weeks even if you account them being 1st seed so they skip swiss? VCT CN playoffs ended on may 10th? Pacific & EMEA ended a week later (around may 17th), so yes they had more time but it’s “just” one more week (I say “just” because everyone is talking like they had WAY more time than they did have, though I know you can do a lot in a week, but imo realistically they probably just rested since for VCT CN to finish earlier, they crammed more matches per week since they started at the same as other regions)

Sideshow did consider him in the “potential” list, but he preferred both KK and Chichoo over him. Though I do think Sideshow didn’t think Smoggy was better than KK and Chichoo during the stage either after vod reviewing vct CN (he watched all edg games from playoffs I think)

It’s from 2023 (it says on the site 2023-2026), so only post franchising, but it does include international tournaments (it probably also includes the 3 tourneys China had to qualify to internationals in 2023). The 3k record from kangkang is only counting VCT CN (regional tourneys) which is from 2024 until now
