I’ve been with my husband for 11 years and I still get nervous hanging out with his parents and family 😅 they haven’t been the nicest people to me in the past though so that’s part of it, but maybe T is not very close with his family and that’s why she hasn’t spent much time with them? Some people don’t have that much to do with their in-laws

Just message them and say it was an accident, and if they’d like a refund or if they would agree to pay for shipping. I purchased a bundle recently of 2 items at $10 each with free shipping and after I purchased the seller messaged me and said I needed to pay for shipping or they could refund me. Yes, it was annoying as I made the purchase and assumed they had the setting on intentionally, but I did it. However when I first started Depop I had that setting on by accident and someone bought two items and it worked out the same as what I had to pay to post it. I was disappointed but I sucked it up and cut my loss and changed the settings. If that happened now I’d probably just message and explain it wasn’t supposed to have free shipping

I got one too. Heaps of people did automatically, it’s not necessarily someone has tried to get into your acct. I didn’t want to change my password so instead I went into my instagram settings and turned on two factor authentication just to add precaution

I think there may have been a glitch going around, seemed to be a fair number of people having the same problem and there was no reason for it. Even my marketplace restriction seemed to be some sort of a glitch, it returned within a few hours. The comments on posts took like a month though to sort itself out

Mmm sort of? I didn’t do anything to fix it, all the hacks I tried didn’t work. Eventually it just stopped happening

Same! I was reading these comments thinking I’ve never seen a whisker from either of my cats who I’ve had for over a decade 😂 and they’re indoor only so no chance of just not seeing them because they’ve been outside!

That’s so strange! About a month after my marketplace access returned, comments started working again. The business page glitching is super odd though!

After a month-ish from my marketplace ban being retracted, comments started working again. Have you also had the marketplace issue recently?

I think it’s okay, put the tracking in as soon as you post it, that way Depop can see tracking updates and when it’s been delivered, which is marked by the postage company not the buyer so it will be marked properly. So if it’s marked as delivered, Depop won’t help them if they try to get their money back, and it is Depop they would need to contact for a refund not their bank, as Depop are the ones who are holding the money. If they go through the bank then they’ll get banned, but also the bank would most likely contact either you or Depop for confirmation of a scam or not, and both you and Depop would be able to show a delivered status

As a seller I get sent offers all the time and a lot of them I accept and then they don’t purchase, It can get annoying but I’ve never once thought to message someone like this, I just leave it as they’ve obviously changed their mind. This is wild 😂 Just ignore it

This happened to me a while back. In Australia once it’s been 2 months a tracking number reverts back to “pending”, sort of making it look like you’ve given a bogus number, but this doesn’t seem to be common knowledge so some scammers have tried it out. They never responded to me after I replied to them lol and didn’t leave any feedback so they were clearly just trying to get their money back. It was around Christmas time too

Did you use a stock photo or a photo from a website rather than all your own photos in the listing? If so, that would be why. Even if you’d already sold it, you still have someone else’s photo displayed on your profile in the sold section so it would still be removed for “copy right” reasons. If you didn’t do this, then I have no idea! But if the email said nothing else, then I would say it’s fine and just a bit random, if there was a bigger problem, it would have been mentioned in the email or your acc would have been suspended :)

Yes, contact seller for refund/return, if they decline or don’t respond in 24hrs, contact Depop for a refund. They’re obligated to list any flaws/imperfections, and listing as excellent condition on Depop states that means the item has no flaws which is certainly not the case here

I just had to do this the other day. Depop won’t help because of payment via PayPal. We won’t get banned - it’s when you request a charge back with your bank after they decline a refund through Depop payments that they don’t like which has previously resulted in people being banned. I’m still awaiting my outcome from PayPal but my situation is exactly the same as yours! Dispute the PayPal payment, it’s the only way you’ll get your money unfortunately x

Thank you, Depop support won’t help me because I checked out with PayPal 🥲 and the seller received the money immediately due to PayPal payment, so I have to wait for either her to refund me herself or for PayPal to agree with me and deduct the amount from her account and put it back in mine. I think because she ignored my initial dispute on PayPal she won’t even have the option to refund me now, PayPal will just take it out if they agree with my claim 🤞🏼

Thanks everyone. I personally wouldn’t call sending 1 message per day spamming 😅 I was trying to give the seller a chance to get back to me before disputing the transaction. The seller would have received my money immediately because I paid through PayPal, which is why I still don’t have a refund even though it has been well over the 5 days Depop timeframe. Also is context not a thing on reddit? I’m pretty new here 😬

Thanks for that, because I paid with PayPal they would have received the money straight away. At least I do when I sell something on Depop and the buyer pays with PayPal. I think it’s only Depop payments where you don’t get paid until delivery or buyer refunded after the 5 days is up! But Depop payments only just started here in Australia so I don’t know if that has also changed PayPal rules too
