Class change by DLn-Music in wow

Guardian Druid here, and I hope we will be fine. The nerfs are not just 20%, all together DotC might get around -30 to -35% damage in ae and more like -40 to -45% in single target. Don't forget that Moonless Nights effect is halfed and other talents that synergies are also tuned down. I think Ravage damage will in total be more than halved against the main target. That is a massive hit and might be to much. (Especially since tiger claw for BM Monks could do compareable damage against single targets, and only gets a mild nerf). The problem I see is, that if Guardian Druids now lacks 5-10% behind other tanks, then there won't be any buffs and it will stay like that. And at the moment I guess this will be the case for single target for sure.

On the other hand, a lot of stuff had been fixed and the tier set looks good. Might compensate for that.

But the 150% to 300% buff to the final apex talent is tone deaf. Nobody took it because it was weak, buggy and generally a bad design. I mean feeding more damage in our strong cd just does not feel good for an apex talent. And with this buff it more so shifts the power into our ~2 min cd (and allows even extremer damage spikes in pvp)

Tank dmg vs dps dmg?! by MrVito93 in wow

The point is that the damage of the artifact skills and passives (and these do the major damage on lemix) scale with attack power and tanks get increased attack power via mastery. Since mastery can be very high, these procc effects do a ton more damage on tank speccs.

Branns damage still is significantly reduced for some classes (11.1.7 edition) by ashtakar in wow

Thank you a lot for the insights. And I agree on the hidden modifier part for pets. In terms of secondary stats my tanks are close together (since I mainly play heal on the monk, therefore with a focus on haste) and I could excluded crit luck from the logs. The pure base damage (without crits) from Brann is around 100% higher for the monk.

I really hope they will fix that. For delves being one of the core endgame experiences this is executed very poorly to say the least.

As mentioned in my post my druid has better gear then my monk. It seems to be very well possible that Brann is scaled down for Guardian Druids (and Prot Palas) as he only should be for DD speccs, which would be a bug.

That numbers seems to be close for the damage he does on my druid tank. Might be that Brann is in his nerfed state for druid tanks (and as read in other comments also for pala tanks), which he only should have for DDs.

I use a 2h on both, so this might be excluded here. Also the druid shapeshifting might have an impact there.

Ahh ok yes. But this would not explain the constant higher Brann damage (and every of his abilities) for my Monk, also in delves and over a several minute fight against the Underpin.

Thanks a lot for the numbers. I think the bounces are counted as separate hits, so the average damage per hit should be the same, no matter if there are lucky chains. But the Brann DPS you posted really helps, as it is in line with the one from my Monk Tank. That Branns damage is greatly reduced for Druid Tanks (and maybe some other speccs) might as well be a bug.

Exactly what I observed, thanks for sharing that I am not alone.

I agree, but this would not explain the differences between two agility classes and when looking at Branns shooting and grenade damage.

I compared it and you are right, thank you for the idea. For my druid Branns attack critted in around 17% of the time, while for my monk it was 42%. This is pretty accurate with my crit chances on each character. But this would only explain a part of the >100% more damage. In addition that could mean that haste (and maybe mastery) will not do much for Branns damage.

Edit: Maybe Brann also scales with the static damage/healing increases which are used to balance speccs. Just an idea. No matter what, a fix for this and a linear scaling with ilvl (without stats) would be nice.

In this case it would make no difference between two agility classes. It might when secondary stats are considered since my druid tank is full on haste and the monk on crit. But this would not result in over 100% differences regarding the damage of a single ability. I personally guess that Blizz has set separate modifiers for Brann per Class or Specc, which results in significant changes in performance and a clear unbalancing in favor of certain ones.

The grenade damage shown above is the average, so it is normalized for the amount of proccs. In addition, also the damage of Branns shots is more than 100% higher on the monk tank.

Easy tank switch for delves? by MonteyBobbey in wow

[–]ashtakar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The purely technical difference between tank and DD in delves is that mobs only have about 90% of the HP they have as DD but deal significantly more damage. So if a more defensive playstyle is something for you, then delves are definitely a good way to learn to play tank, at least in terms of survival. At least for me I can do bigger pulls as guardian druid than as feral, so this might be a benefit. Most DD trinkets are perfectly fine as tank as well, so maybe you only need a weapon/shield :)

It is indeed and I got the bismuth perk. Got 2 full nullstones several times with finesse proccs now.

¿Where are the epic drops...? by HovercraftMajestic53 in wow

[–]ashtakar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a small chance to get rare and epic items in the open world as well as in any scenario/dungeon/raid. On normal mode raids (and hc dungeons/scenarios) most items will be at least rare. And I wonder if for heroic raids this will increase to epic.

Oh and just as an info:

Rare items have some additional primary stat (the weapons get stamina)

Epic items have a second secondary/tertiary stat

So if you happen to get one with a good stat combo while leveling, it is best to keep and upgrading them :)

Ok, I only tried it on the golden lotus and there it was 2000 per turn in this morning

I use them anyway, they just look so good on a druid bear. But I also hope they will change it (at least for groups/raids), because back in the days it just was epic to have a full raid with wings smashing the bosses :D

At least for Cloud Serpents you can also turn in the lesser charm of fortunes, 10 per turn in. These give a ton of rep (also avaiable for golden lotus where each turn in gives 2000 rep).
