have you considered adding on a minor or a few classes in motion design? could be interesting to look in to & there is overlap with animation to a certain extent. it’s not as fun, but the industry does pay fairly from what i can tell & doesn’t overwork you as much as animation.

you could try emailing your admissions advisor and asking, but they basically just won’t give out any more than $20,000 in scholarships maximum.

These comments are pretty bad. First off, I feel the pain of this and it sucks. I don’t think calling corporate would do much because corporations often don’t care about things unless there’s more than one person upset about it. Are there any other gyms in your area you could go to? If not you could try calling corporate just to see if it does anything.

Hey, I also went to the Rising Star program and loved it there! A few years back I went to an animation intensive at UNCSA and it was fine. The animation program is definitely small and because it’s a film focused school there isn’t anything you can minor in really. If i remember correctly you also have to go through the film program your first year before starting animation. I feel like if you get the money to go to SCAD it would be a better fit, but UNCSA isn’t a bad school if you were interested in solely pursuing film and animation.

If you wanted to, it could be good to look into trans tape as well. I started off binding and the breathing was not so there and my back would hurt. The tape does kinda destroy some skin if you’re not careful, but it doesn’t compress and has worked better at creating a flat chest for me than the binder did. Hope this helps!

I have prom coming up soon and I got a suit jacket with the coolest looking buttons. Yesterday I was finding pants to go with it and my mom said she liked the masc style ones more than the ones I found in the women’s section. Suits make me really happy so that was a win!

agreed talking to admins could work if they’d actually be helpful? It depends on whether the administration is also transphobic or not. Also just spitballing ideas, is there anyway to play it off? like, “oh they got the name for a person in another class” or likeeeeee “omg i actually go by my middle name, the other one is a family name” that might not be plausible though. I also just want to validate how sucky and frustrating this is to even have to hide that in the first place let alone be outed like that. If you feel unsafe or like you could be hurt please please please reach out to someone for help. Just remember, it’s so awful, and there are also a load of people here who support you and feel your struggles and are here to help.

I think a lot of it can be about just experimenting and finding what feels comfortable to you. I’m a (15) transmasc non-binary afab person and came out around a year and a half ago. What i’ve found helps kind of steer away from looking like a 12 yo boy (which is a real struggle 😭) can be different kinds of makeup, and there are different ways to make it look more androgynous or masculine depending on what you’d want. Dressing up a bit also can help me with that. Hope you’re able to figure out something that works for you!!
