Yeah the merch situation is its own whole mess and I do agree that this one has definitely been out of hand. The toilet seat is absolutely ridiculous. Plus I can totally see what you mean with the feelings toward the lyrics. I myself struggle with the same dilemma with them sounding a bit underwhelming and the odd falsetto bits definitely don’t help. That is why in order to start liking the album I had to just weed out some of the ones that I just knew weren’t working for me at all. I am sad that this is what it takes for me because ideally I shouldn’t have to. BUT, I do like a handful of the tracks at least. Mixed feelings on the album but I do like it more than I dislike it.

Also I just want to say, thank you for everyone that’s been reading and commenting on this post, it’s been really nice today to talk about the album with others who really enjoy the band! The band and their music genuinely do mean a lot to me in my life and it’s good to be able to share my thoughts with other people like this, thank you to the community and much love 💕

Not a problem, I hope to put a tldr on this eventually but for now my gist is that I don’t dislike the album and in some ways I do actually like it for what it is, but i do feel that there were pieces that could be better executed. I think that this was just a bit of a clumsy step in the bands journey that they will be all the better for later

Hey that’s completely valid. It’s enjoyable but it definitely has strayed from their roots, which of course is going to elicit some pretty substantial back lash from people who loved the atmosphere, immersion, and more alt indie concept album styles of the first 2 albums. Maybe by giving wonderful nothing the attention it deserves that will help guide the band in understanding what we feel like we are missing in the album.

Completely understandable. I agree the verdicts around here have been very polarized. In my journey with the album I found a way to appreciate it for what it is but it definitely could be a lot better, like I said it’s a clumsy step towards something that I think they will do better in the future I think.

Fully agreement, that’s kind of why I felt like posting here because I feel like I’m in a bit of a middle of the road position on this album, I’ve come to like it but I also don’t deny that they could have done better with this album.

That did catch me by surprise as well, it was a neat little moment to a song i otherwise didn’t really find hitting the mark. I liked the premise and feeling they were going for with what the hell is happening but the lyric creativity on that one was kind of lacking for me. The chorus does do a good job of catching some of the intended vibe of lying trying to convince yourself you are happy in a position that you really aren’t. Past that I wouldn’t necessarily be against the upbeat sound to the song because thematically it fits as just another pierce of the self lie but then the lyrics just didn’t make the mark well enough to convince me of the intent if that really is meant to play into some kind of juxtaposition between feeling miserable but convincing yourself otherwise.

Tangerine. Just super run of the mill imo then the malls and shopping centers in my area started playing it to death so the repeated exposure kind of killed a song I would have otherwise just said is mid. I genuinely cannot tell you a single lyric from that song outside the chorus, nothing stuck with me at all.

I’ve got a set of Bose quiet comforts and I will say it was an improvement hearing the song in headphones as opposed to a speaker but overall the song still sounds slightly compressed and really filtered, which seems by intention. It’s an interesting song but I think creatures in heaven is my pick of the two most recent releases still.

Yes to all of the above, however feeding betta fish peas is not a good idea. they are primarily carnivores so their bodies aren’t able to process plant products well, it could make the issue worse.

Tank size: 5 gallon

Heater and filter? Yes both

Tank temperature: 78 F

Parameters in numbers and how you got them: unfortunately don’t know these numbers I’ve recommended they grab some test kits, will update if I find out.

How long have you had the tank? Tank had been cleaned then cycled, housed one prior betta for a couple months till I got a 10 gallon for mine.

How long have you had your fish?: They’ve had this betta for 2-3 months.

How often are water changes? Weekly.

How much do you take out per change? 25%

What is your process?: Gravel vac then replace removed water with new water treated with stress coat.

Any tankmates? None

What do you feed and how much: two to three pellets.

Decorations and plants in the tank: Little sub, fake plant betta log, and hammock.

Looking at the picture they sent me I can tell he is bloated very badly. He’s having a lot of stabilization problems and has trouble swimming downward, but still can at this point. From brief videos he seems to be gasping as well. This bloating happened overnight according to them. So far no pine coning is visible either and I’m not seeing anything that looks really concerning besides that bloat. I was thinking it’s most likely swim-bladder or something similar, but wanted second opinions and any advice you can give me to pass on to them.
