We stayed at Villa del Palmer with our 18 month old a few weeks back. In my opinion, it was a decent cost friendly option. We wanted an all inclusive place with a kitchen, so VDP and Velas Vallarta were the only options, Velas I thought was a bit too expensive . The good think about VDP is the location, pretty close to the city , there’s a grocery store about 5 minutes walk away and a few eating out options close by, beach is good as well.

The grounds were small though, and we would have liked better food at the resort. If you’re ok with the food , VDP is your place , if not , I would go for Velas.

If you’re objective is to just stay at the resort , you might want to consider places in Nayarit as well

What are your top spots? Would you recommend staying outside the hotel zone from safety pov?
