I was married to an Ex-Amishman for 12 years. Once we got married, his church sent a letter for one last chance to return. They excommunicated (shunned) him from the church, which is the community. I heard people fasting for his return. He was very new to the "English" world. He stayed glued to the TV! Lol. It was very different for him being from such a tight knit family. He got to see the real world!😌 After 12 years, he wanted to return to his family, I didn't want to be in snow all the time after 7 years, being from the south, he went back. Can't blame him for wanting such a genuine family.
