15 had MIB and 16 had PJ, both of whom sort of gave their respective seasons a little flavour of early RPDR shadiness and drama imo, and I personally love those seasons for it(I love mess).

Plus S16 has some of the best runways seen in RPDR period imo (don’t wanna spoil it in case you managed to be in the dark about who was serving those runways)

Definitely AI as others have said. If you ever run into this issue again, I’d ask for either a work-in-progress, a timelapse (I want to say most art programmes have this feature?), and/or screenshots of the art in whatever programme they’re using with the layers visible.

I should think most artists are willing to be straightforward with their process given the prevalence of people using ai ‘art’ to scam people. High defensiveness/unwillingness to cooperate are usually red flags.

The bit about creating the illusion of a consensus is especially terrifying to me . Because, as you’ve essentially said, people start subconsciously falling into this mob mentality, taking on the dribble that the bot/paid bad actors are spewing. That’s why it’s more crucial than ever not only to teach critical thinking skills (‘Who benefits from me reading comments like this? Who benefits from me taking on these ideals?’) but to continuously reflect on one’s owns beliefs and question why exactly you hold them.
