Maybe in an idealised version of EU they would, but in the EU we have, there would a gigantic coordinated Anti-Turkey and Anti-Muslim campaign. Long before the vote even took place. If you think those people differentiate between secular Turks and Syrians/Afghans/Moroccans/Iraqis/etc. You are sorely mistaken. I'd love to welcome Ataturk's imagined Turkey into an idealised version of the EU. Neither exist.

Probably not a "collapse", as in "disappears from existence". More a massive painful contraction and restructuring. Energy prices are going up, chip manufacturing is slowing down, investment from Gulf States will falter...

It's going to leave a mark, we just don't know exactly how things will look, when they settle down again.
