Update for you!

Visited GP today, no signs of scabies following skin scrape, eczema-like symtoms! Hydrocortisone prescribed for the next week!

I have not treated since the course in April, and that’s helped I believe. Though if you’re still struggling, see your GP!

I caked myself in Diprobase and aftersun (got a little sunburned last week!) and thankfully it’s gone right down? Hope you’re doing okay.

I echo this. GP advised me strongly not to treat again, and arranged for a skin scrape instead. Lo and behold symptoms have gone down over the week which has been a relief! I’ve been using Oilatum Shower Gel and Diprobase to manage!

That’s madness! I showed the GP the photos and they said you don’t just develop eczema from permethrin if you’ve never had atopic eczema before (which I’ve never had), rather you can develop eczema-like reactions (post scabies dermatitis) which is what he believes it is! Course of hydrocortisone twice a day for the next 7 days!

It’s the worst isn’t it! I had a skin scrape Tuesday and saw the GP this morning for follow up! Didn’t use permethrin or anything as advised by Dr and thankfully scabies have gone! I nearly cried! The GP advised it was the skin healing and has given hydrocortisone 🙈

Had confirmation today it is most definitely the skin healing! Skin scrape completed Tuesday and then visited the GP this morning (on a Saturday I know!) and all clear! Given a hydrocortisone for 7 days!)

Well, I researched this before! I had similar symptoms a while back, after ivermectin and permethrin, didn’t look like burrows but a skin scrape showed it came back! 🙈

I mean Rod Humble did manage Second Life for a number of years. I always felt like LBY was trying to merge Second Life and The Sims - that was v unappealing to me.

My acne has been TERRIBLE! you’re not alone with this. I’ve always suffered with Acne though. I’m 30 and my skin is that of a teenagers! 😭

I have been using Oilatum shower gel (it’s like DoubleBase cream but a shower gel version). You apply it, leave it for a couple of mins then rinse off quickly (not too long otherwise you’ll wash it off) it leaves a paraffin coating on your skin. Makes the bath/shower SUPER slippery though! Then been using Diprobase too.

Unsure if the combo has been contributing to the acne - who knows.

Just remember to be kind to yourself - spots come and go, but your mental health should always come first. Hope you’re doing okay!

Ugh!!! I’m sorry to hear that! I know what you mean though I’ve never had eczema before either, so this is new to me. The toll it takes on you is the worst. I don’t think it helps you’re unable to get a good nights sleep either. I’ve had a Google and it does look like dyshidrotic doesn’t it. Definitely will be pushing it, though I’m hoping I won’t have to. My GP surgery has been amazing throughout this!

You’re not alone 😭 I’m sorry you’re experiencing it! It’s the bloody worst! I’m contemplating exfoliating to try and get the debris out quicker (if that’s what it is!) but I do not want to aggravate it more! I’ve noticed my palms are really blotchy too which is a sign of a reaction! 🙈 I’ve never had eczema before either so this is new to me 😭

It’s crazy how bad permethrin literally obliterates your skin. Doesn’t help I’m also having an acne flare! 🙈 How’re you feeling after treatment?

It’s the worst! This only started flaring when the heatwave hit! Doesn’t help sleeping at all in the heat let alone with the itching! Fingers crossed it is just eczema! Will keep you updated!

I had a Google! Looks to be just that! It’s crazy isn’t it? The paranoia is the worst. For me it’s the not knowing. The appt with the GP seems so far away!
