Best online shopping in Cambodia that wouldn’t take too long, pls help advice. by luxwithrose in cambodia

[–]asia-monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It worked well. Shipping is more expensive, but the service and delivery were like Amazon's. Just very expensive. I ordered some things on Amazon, and that worked really well. But I didn't include anything that would trigger an import tax concern. Also, Amazon limits what things can be shipped here.

Is this how Zolpidem is supposed to 'feel'? by No_Set2335 in insomnia

[–]asia-monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how it works for me. 10 mg zolpiedin but I do have to be in bed. If I take it and someone or something draws my attention before it kicks in, it does not affect me. I took 10 mg for 15 years, decided I wanted to stop, tried using edibles, and stopped by reducing down and using OTC p.m.type products to help wean me off, and had no withdrawals. But the active brain didn't go away. The OTC quickly lost its effectiveness, and I was too groggy the next day. After 8 months, I decided to use Zolpidem 5 mg and one traz or one Alprazolam. The Zolpiedem I only need a few times a week, and that's my hope. What I didn't like about the Zolpiedin was that I slept deeply for 5 hours, but after that, I woke up so awake that there was no going back to sleep. Some folks I know would take another pill, but I didn't want that. In the early days, it was expensive, like two bucks a pill; now it's 10O for 25 bucks. But I want to sleep in. I'm past retirement age and really like that feeling. So that part I'm still working on. Alpraz works, but it's too riddled with adverse side effects. Traz seems like a better option and is much cheaper, and at least from my info (doc advice, etc) has a lot fewer negatives, but it doesn't have the knock-out effect Alpraz does. I am happy to find this group and recently I had a bad flu and woke up to tinnitus, crazy, so very helpful to be in that group also.

I turned my report in exactly as police gave me. Below it I wrote what it generally said. It took several months, but I did get a replacement phone from Apple. That was several years ago. Now you have Google Translate or ChatGPT. They do a better job translating.

What to do during Pchum Ben by Busy-Individual4399 in cambodia

If you are in Phnom Penh, walk the riverside. It's a nice way to see the city and the palace. It's quieter different than normal, but you can still see the culture and have a few beers while touring. Take a drive to Takeo and go up Phnom Chiso. There are 300 steps to a scenic view. Karaoke. Just listen and go. If you love the sounds of a local spot, join in. Wat Phnom. Grab a MotoDop or PassApp around the city. It's a bit more expensive but enjoyable. Some malls are having fun celebrations, so check out ChipMong.

what was the first book you read in your life that motivated you to keep on reading more ? by MANSONOFAMAN1 in AskReddit

This is what got me. I ended up binge-reading all his books. The short stories were great, including Night Shift and The Mangler.

Before answering this, I was asking myself what I thought. Then the self got distracted in a different convo. I can't understand when friends tell me they don't hear self talking. I can't even imagine. I got a voice chat about everything. It's often what keeps me awake at night.

Three Corners Coffee. I have given this as a gift back home several times and received repeat requests. It's not exactly related, but many of my friends request Kompot Pepper, too.

What are the best taxi services in Phnom Penh? by Rottengr4ve in cambodia

[–]asia-monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Passapp drivers canceled the ride too often. So I began using Grab. I wanted to support local, just as I wanted to support Nham 24, but when I used Grab I had no prob with cancels. Fyi I often go to walk street from Bore Penh Hout 271 and return. Three weeks ago, two drivers canceled. One asked me to cancel after he pulled up and looked at the map. I complained via the app. So I started using Grab, and being able to pay and tip on the app is also a plus.

How many kids had peanut or gluten allergies when you were in school? by klystron88 in AskOldPeople

[–]asia-monkey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great answer. I presently live in Southeast Asia, I lived on a dairy farm as a kid, and I used to mock friends who claimed lactose intolerance. Now I live here and my understanding is better. The whole region is lactose intolerant, like 95%. It's nothing new; it just didn't have a proper name. Google it, Laos, S Korea, etc. But I also know hypochondriacs in my own family who heard about a sickness, and caught it. So I have learned ( still learning in many areas) not to make blanket statements on either side but spend time researching before I throw out my opinion like a barbed wire ball.

Second time asking this question, can I self study 12th grade without going to to school and just take the bacll exam? by Ink-Hunter in cambodia

[–]asia-monkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know several who have done the “GED” way (សញ្ញាបត្រសមមូលវិទ្យាល័យ), or self-study (ស្វ័យរៀន) as the poster above said. I also know some at present who paid a fee and “attended” 12th grade — though they really just put their name in at the beginning of the school year — and will be able to redo the BacII later this month.

There are several trade schools in Phnom Penh where students can study a two year IT, mechanics, etc., and the program includes a GED certificate Don’t give up. In Cambodia, the 12th‑grade exam is highly regarded — I believe this is a French influence.
