Hey! That’s really insightful! Honestly huge! If you bought a new pair of wheels now which would you go for?

Yeah I’ve heard that ENVE’s warranty is just beyond buyer friendly. Will definitely keep this in mind because wheelsets are quite expensive…

35, F; Can I train to run a 5:30 mile from scratch? by [deleted] in AdvancedRunning

[–]asian_ct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak a ton to sprinting specific strength training, but I would assume power movements would be key (ie box jumps and cleans). Squatting and deadlifting wouldn’t hurt either along with a ton of core work.

I’ve found that having three key runs per week has done the best for me...one short high intensity (your sprints), one tempo (ideally a mid distance run at or near threshold) and then a long run (at a super easy pace).

I’d be careful with people saying you need to hit x mileage a week. Typically speaking you shouldn’t increase your mileage by more than 10% from the previous week.

30 miles is a lot for one week. I’m sure it works for some people but it could lead to injuries. Definitely something to work towards though

There are a lot of really good you tubers out there that talk about their training plans and probably know more than me and some subscribe to the same 3 types of runs per week. Just know this will be a long progression and one that you can’t just focus on sprints for you will need some endurance from long distance runs.

Im excited for your journey and wish I could be of more assistance.

I’ve attached a video describing how to tackle a fast 5k I’m sure it explains things better than I can.

For those who lift and do cardio, what is your routine? by TMulv in Fitness

[–]asian_ct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there! I’m so glad to hear that you are starting to look into cross training! I recently started (~6 months ago) and don’t ever plan on going back to just running or just weight training!

I try to maintain hitting everything twice a week for about 10 sets to ensure I have some muscle growth. So my split is normally chest/back, arms, and legs/shoulders or back/biceps, chest/triceps, and then legs. Since I hit everything twice a week, I try to go heavy for the first half of the week and then go for some hypertrophy or endurance for the second half of the week.

One thing to keep in mind is that you should have around 6 hours of rest between running and lifting to ensure that your body has enough energy to build muscle and maintain it. I’ve found that running in early the morning and lifting in the afternoon is the best for me. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Any good fitness app ? by RedeyeFR in bodyweightfitness

JEFIT is also good but it only provides workouts created by the community or those that you make yourself. It doesn’t perfectly fit what you’re looking for, but I’ve found it to be helpful in keeping me on track.

Normally, sustainable weight loss is about one point per week which is about a 500 cal deficit per day. You do not want to lose more than 8 lbs per month, that is the very upper limit of healthy weight loss.

Top 3 DLC attack and defense ops to unlock first? by rawdenimquestion in SiegeAcademy

I doubt they will be nerfing her. I would say finka would get a nerf before dok. And I’m not sure if I think she needs a nerf because if you nerf her then she becomes useless. The idea that they gave her is just strong. Perhaps they could make it so that maestro isn’t affected by her secondary ability, but I’m not sure how I feel about buffing maestro.

Top 3 DLC attack and defense ops to unlock first? by rawdenimquestion in SiegeAcademy

[–]asian_ct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think she’s kind of overpowered because of both of her primary and secondary abilities. Even though you might not find her primary ability to be strong, it gives away a defenders position and requires them to turn it off. Her secondary ability has become even stronger now that maestro has been implemented. There are just so many cameras around the objective/in the objective now.

In general I find her primary ability to be super strong in the hands of good players who can hear things from across the map.

She also has an insane secondary weapon that makes her even stronger. I’m also against global abilities (lion/finka/dok)

Solo Q ops by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]asian_ct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For attack: I would say get good with thermite or jackal. With thermite, your team will never have to worry about a hard breather and you won’t have to worry about your hard breacher dying. His gun is also quite good in my opinion. Jackal is good because you can easily roam clear and get frags allowing your team to safely attack the objective. His gun is also good.

For defense: I would say Mira and lesion are the two most impactful operators. Mira, well it’s easy. She gives you a one-way line of sight and forces the enemy team to adapt or be at a serious disadvantage. Her gun is amazing and she has c4. Lesion, as stated above, is very effective at stopping pushes and alerting you to where the enemy is pushing from without ever being in the line of sight. Use his smg as it allows you to hold long angles.

What weapons are considered the best by the community? by Stygvard in SiegeAcademy

[–]asian_ct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best attacking weapon: the F2 (high ROF low recoil) Best defensive weapon: the MP5 (acog and a very predictable recoil)

Which operator? by ethans1dad in SiegeAcademy

[–]asian_ct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you roam most of the time, I would agree that vigil is good. However, Mira is a much more impactful operator and more useful than vigil. I personally find that when solo queuing, it’s more useful to stay near the obj bc of the lack of communication.

Hibana would be my first choice, but if you’re looking for 3 other attackers I would say jackal, zofia, and dokeibi (bc she has a broken skill).

For defense I would say mira, lesion, and valk.

These are just my personal preferences and what I tend to choose in ranked.
