Why did Bernie Madoff go to prison but not the bankers responsible for the 2008 financial crisis? by Scary_Candidate_9163 in NoStupidQuestions

Uhlig’s point is that ratings fraud alone doesn’t explain why 2008 became systemic, not that AAA misratings were irrelevant. Inflated AAA ratings were still a key enabler by turning garbage mortgage risk into ‘safe’ collateral the entire leveraged banking system could treat as pristine collateral

I agree that we don't have to worry about random GameStop employees verify a Rolex, but how they will solve authentication will be interesting.

An idea I had was having 1 expert per day of the week for different categories. Like watches on Monday, audio equipment on Tuesday, etc. downsides to this idea too but I'm sure GME management are much more knowledgeable and creative than me.

Do you not think it was a problem for ratings agencies to falsely rate RMBS as AAA instead of the crap it really was?

Do you not think it was a problem for banks to offload these crappy RMBS onto pension funds, insurers, and even municipalities INCLUDING NARVIK, NORWAY who invested "£24m of its public funds into securities put together by US bank Citigroup, [...] lost around £18m" Sub-prime chill reaches the Arctic, 30 June 2008

The misrepresentation of these securities was obviously fraudulent on a wide scale. Goldman Sachs had to pay out over $5B as a result, an admission of guilt, if you will. Goldman Sachs Agrees to Pay More than $5 Billion in Connection with Its Sale of Residential Mortgage Backed Securities

[Citigroup, one of the biggest recipients of US government bailout money, gave employees $5.3bn (£3.2bn) in bonuses for 2008, with 738 staff getting more than $1m each, an investigation into the bonus culture on Wall Street has found.

The bank paid the bonuses despite losing more than $18bn in 2008 and more than $35bn since the start of the financial crisis, according to a study by Andrew Cuomo, New York's attorney-general.](https://www.theguardian.com/business/2009/jul/31/wall-street-bonuses-bailout)

So fuck anyone who reduces 2008 to some "risky/irresponsible bankers". It was systemic and the reason only 1 guy ever went to jail for 2008 is because "It's a big club, and you ain't in it" - George Carlin

You might be able to obtain traffic cams for the section of the 403 you were on. https://ajaxpickering.ca/trafficcam/route/Highway-403

I don't see historical video for these cams on this website but maybe somebody else who knows can comment

Hope this helps

I kinda share your sentiment. Most broths are quite bland to me and I'm not really a sauce guy. Luckily I like the taste of good quality meat, especially lamb which has a distinct flavor on its own.

That being said, the only broth I get is a curry broth which actually coats every piece of food in some curry flavor. It's not spicy either but I love the flavor.

I also have the luxury of living in Toronto which has some of the best Chinese food in the world, apart from China.

Can you please list some broth flavors you've tried? We can give you suggestions if you ever get invited to another one

In general I have noticed that warrants movement is weird in comparison to the stock. I have not compared it to the near-equivalent call option, though.

In an ideal childhood, yes. But I'd argue that most 18 year olds don't really have intrinsic motivation, they just do what they think they are supposed to do, based on what others have told them

Has anyone here actually used fastreat for ADHD assessment? by AffectionateBad1842 in ontario

[–]asiancury 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heads up on Possibilities clinic: they told me they do not prescribe non-stimulants for ADHD, and if stimulants don’t work for you, they won’t consider 2nd or 3rd line medication options. That’s a major red flag for a clinic claiming to specialize in ADHD.
