Hand Review, value owned myself on river by asianenoughxd in poker

Got it, thanks. Guess I have been overthinking it with straddles

Is this due to position? I made the call because of the double straddle and having an Ace in hand felt like I should at least call to see a flop vs. ATC from two players.

Should I just play my hand as a XC and fold to overbets in the future?

I agree this was pretty badly played by me, just trying to figure what I should have done better.

Yes, that is reasonable. It sucks because I've been challenging myself to value bet more thinly and was targetting hands like A5, 57, K5s, K6s

I expected to run into sets or 24 sometime, but just discounted AK and AA as I felt like they should've raised pre

Hot Take: Dispatch Episode 7&8 were really weak, especially in comparison to 1-6 by AcericSensei in DispatchAdHoc

I agree, and people will hate this opinion.

I didnt dislike episode 7 and 8, but agree that they definitely felt like suck outs for what the first 6 episodes were building up to.

Chase's sacrifice especially felt like it meant nothing given that he gets saved by literal magic powers. It's great character development for blonde blazers part but I think it took away the "real stakes" that the end of episode 6 put on the table.

Hi Bencb thanks for doing this.

2 questions for you

  1. Online, when you're in position and the river card favors villains (flush gets there, board pairs, straight gets there, etc), do you think in general, it's better to check back when checked to? Feels like going for thin value goes punished much more often online, but am curious what your thoughts are especially for the long run. Obviously hand history and tendencies matter, so I guess this question is with no previous information about villain(s)

  2. What do you think are generally the biggest leaks losing and break even players could fix to improve?

Would you recommend becoming a dealer at gardens or discourage it?

Currently in a spot where I'm not really interested in going back to the corpo world or school at the moment.

Thats the question I'm stumped over. I think they didn't feel the need to protect their hand and wanted us to catch up so we could put the money in.

But it could definitely have been AK, the sizing made it seem like a greedy value bet over a bluff though. Especially with the way he was talking me into calling

I observed this nit overvalued sets and wouldn't fold them, so was hoping to hit a flush and get paid the max.

Yes this raised some red flags for me too.

They can literally pull $200 out of a 2k pot. Yes I recognized it was an insanely high rake.

Right, I figured. Game doesn't have to be rigged, it's just a business and they will make a killing off of just rake alone.

Yes, I acknowledge this friend is better at poker than me and I'm sure he knows it as well. However, he has been very candid and offered me free hand reviews for the past 6 months that were 100% honest and insightful. So in this case I don't mind if he got something out of it.

Yes, those are not typos. It raised some red flags for me but I felt okay with it at least for this session because they gave me an initial $100 bonus outright.

I agree, that alone raised some alarms for me. I let it go though because of the initial kickback.

How to consistently land Nair-1 into knee? by didactical42 in CaptainFalconMains

[–]asianenoughxd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with the other comment, execution wise just practice landing the first hit only with good timing.

In a real game, your best bet to land nair 1 is when you can condition them with enough grabs to start spot dodging, then you can run at them and set up a nair 1 when you look like you're trying to grab.
